And Greece in 04 fully proves this. Something has been missing from the US side for a while. As Fossil noted, the US were at their best when working their asses off and making the KO stages with less talent than we currently have. The players tuned out Jurgi at some point, the return of BA was an unmitigated disaster, and now we’re getting by on talent under Berhalter.

I honestly would love to see what someone like Mourinho could do with this US team. He may be a bit of a pie in the sky, but you kinda get my drift on that. The US will likely be looking for a new coach this time next year and I don’t want it to be yet another American that hasn’t done anything.

Or at least keep Weston McKennie occupied so he doesn't have to mess with teammates' family members.

If there were betting lines, Marsch would prob be -200. But yah, I'd prefer a non-American as well. Who's Canada's current WNT coach?

The only time the USA beat Canada this year (no Davies or David), the USA had 46% possession.

intentionally being obtuse about the US roster from that day?

Zardes, Dike, Lletget, Busio, Acosta, Vines, MRob, Sands, Zimmerman, Moore

This thread could beat that lineup

Marsch would be my best guess as well and I don’t want that for him. /sigh

For him? At this point he will be lucky to get another job in Europe. He should be begging for the US job to resurrect his career after he blew it.

Does 1st place get something more than 2nd or 3rd at WC? No, in fact Canada is going to Pot 3 and likely end up with a Group of Death and brick out.

lolcanada. Wear your mask.

lol GGG sounds like prizm

"They couldn't handle our physicality. That's plain and simple," Berhalter said. "We were running them all over the pitch and when you look at duels won, when you look at our pressing -- they had a very, very hard time dealing with what we were giving them."

According to ESPN Stats & Information, Canada won 50.7% of the duels in the game.

fwiw. espn had CAN winning the xG 1.17 to 0.94

Even if the US gets 4th they've gotta be ~80% against NZ, right?
