so I was complaining a lot that we weren't attempting to knock long balls against worse teams pressing. I'll give it to Berhalter, we at least figured out not to do the same terrible back third passing v Mexico.

In all honesty, this has been a great 25 minutes for us.

I like fossil as much as the next guy, but it's not like he's even close to being fluent in Spanish.

That's not to say he's wrong. It's just not quite the appeal to authority you think it is.

Yea when you live in a country and speak the language, even if you arent perfectly fluent, you pick up the slang pretty quickly. Have you ever lived in another country where they speak a different language? Also Latin countries have like a different meaning for every slang word to as an aside

you picked a great time to take a gap.

Ream has been positionally irresponsible at times for this whole tournament but he has good field vision (always has) and he's an effective passer. Also, he's been playing a TON in the English Championship and it shows. His 1v1 defending has really improved. He was never a CB, honestly, and whoever moved him to LB is smart.

Our left side with Ream and nipples is pretty bad.

Hilarious goalkeeping by Ochoa.

I can't claim to know personally, but going by what Mexicans tell me, some claim it's not meant to be offensive, some find it a bit classless and wish the chant would stop.

I don't think it's anything to get your panties in a wad over, but kinda agree with the latter group.

If Altidore and nipples weren’t so bad we’d be up 2-0. That’s 2 clear chances we should’ve scored.

I think the sideline reporter just said "succor" because "soccer" didn't make any sense in that context.

This is true for a word like cabron, which has a lot of different meanings. But puto is pretty cut and dried. Maybe this isn't the hill you want to die on.

Its not fair to teets to compare his chance to Jozy. Any competent striker finishes the Jozy chance

Other than that scuff this might be Altidore's best game in a US shirt since Honduras 2013.

I'm not willing to die on it but I'm also not going to let it ruin the game for me because it fake offended the guy who referred to 99% of the Mexicans in attendance at a game in the United States as "illegals" and make a big deal about it.

I believe the correct football term for that defending is "sixes and sevens"

I'm just saying it would be nice to have a Zardes with touch. Instead we have a dinosaur that can't make a clean strike and another dude that has pinball flippers for boots.

watching that replay it's a miracle Morris didn't give a penalty on that whiff/recover swipe
