Thought this video was pretty cool with Bedoya leading an "I believe" chant. Nantes seem to love their Americans.

VAR = Video Assistant Referee

which I think helps a player like Pulisic who doesn't really want contact but will benefit from increased number of fouls called. unless I missed something, Premiere league does not have VAR yet.

anyways, of course you don't have to be a physical player to make it in the EPL....but I do think the EPL has some of the biggest, most physical wingers both in attacking and defensive roles which is where I assume Pulisic will continue to play.

i doubt many real futbol heads believe the EPL is superior anymore, especially in terms of shear quality....but I do think most people will agree; it is the most physically demanding of the top flight leagues, and that it's the league where size/physicality matters the most.

EPL is like the rich kid who drives the way too fancy car in high school. Sure it's the best league, if you had to pick one. it better be with the money they spend. Doesn't mean it is inherently better in every way.

smh I know what VAR is.

You really think VAR moves the needle on how many fouls are called? It doesn't.

EPL is still where the greatest concentration of great players is, and where all those players aren't all one one or 2 teams (spread amongst 6 tbf). I'd be thrilled if we had more guys in Bundesliga, La Liga, etc... and Dortmund is and has been a great space for Pulisic. Just think he's a player that has the potential to go to the next level, the elite tier, and moving on from Dortmund is inevitable. There's no rush though

the biggest issue is playing time.

He gets playing time at BVB

he wont get as much at "elite clubs"

Agree but he'd still get plenty of games, at least at a club like Liverpool, and be developed to be getting all of the games by time he is 23-24, at the most elite level. Next phase of his development imo if he is truly to be the first world class player we've ever had

The idea that PL bottom feeders being maybe 1% better than BL bottom feeders will make a tangible difference in Pulisic's development seems weird to me. Plus in Dortmund he's guaranteed CL football sadly, among with being the first name on the teamsheet. If we're getting into "intangibles", being the main offensive creator at his club is probably better for him than just passing it to Salah, because he'll also need to be that to a much larger extent with the US.

It's not the PL bottom feeders being better. It's that in the PL you are playing against 5 other very very good teams each season vs. 1 in the Bundesliga PLUS you have CL (or at the very least EL) football so the extra games are there.

Your last point is fair, but I think becoming an elite all around player playing against great competition every month is the ultimate aim. Dortmund is a fine level to be at though. It's not like he's a Seattle Sounder

And as long as Puli doesn't Bradley it back to MLS then I'm happy with wherever he is at in Europe. As a Liverpool fan I would selfishly like to see him in the PL, but if he's at Dortmund for the rest of his career then I'm thrilled as a USMNT supporter and it sets a great example for everyone else

Yedlin injured his knee against Tottenham, needed help getting up the stairs in the tunnel.

I was watching on a less than stellar stream but it didn’t look like Weah really did anything wrong. Hard to pass on putting in Mbappe after the half when you are losing. The offense just seemed out of sync with Weah on in the first half. It looked like PSG had difficulty retaining possession and building the attack.

the fact that he's getting real minutes is all that matters, whether Mbappe isn't in form yet from the WC or not

this is just the beginning of the ascendance

It’s not often that it’s obvious that a game will end 3-0 but that’s what’s happening here. Bet the house on 3-0 Brazil and profit.

3-0 is probably kind tbh. I have no desire to watch it

Man, Robinson looked pretty poor that first half. US has a few chances on set pieces and did a decent job when they had possession. I’m ready for Weah to sub on. Miazga had some good passes and thought Adams/Mckennie looked alright.
