Lol that's hilarious

I read that they called him a bunch of times, but he never got back to them
Presumably because his mind was already made up

Also saw an article with some choice quotes from Hercules Gomez I think it was, saying that there's a perception that US Soccer is institutionally biased against hispanic players & duels in general

The 2nd part is basically confirmed, as the previous time y'all struggled there was much griping about duels not caring due to not being real 'Murrricans etc

Did he ever actually retire though? I thought he was released by Barca, and could have gone to another big club in Europe but instead chose NYRB, and was lambasted for that decision. Later ended up at León in Mexico, Lando's current club.

If we had a competent cm and not MLS All-Star Michael Bradley we beat Euro Champs

Pretty unbelievable really. The one full time US Scout blatantly lies while trying to cover up the fact that he’s pretty bad at his job and there is no recourse. He should’ve been fired immediately.

In that same Gomez article it was claimed that Richie Williams gave Gonzalez a 10 minute ultimatum to accept a place in Bradenton when he was 14 years old after he and his father asked for some time to think things over.

I haven’t really paid much attention at all to how US Soccer has been run but the more you read and find out the more astonishing it is to learn how inept the entire organization is. There needs to be a major shakeup from top to bottom.

I find it funny how everyone craps on JK still. Truth is the most of the guys who played for him were a bunch of MLS-homebody snowflakes. JK probably best coach we've had.

Yep. If it wasn't for 2 MLS cancers he would have beaten the European Champions (Michael Bradley) with the #2 GOAT and pulled off a huge upset in the knockout rounds against a loaded Belgium team (Wondo).

I mean he wasn't the greatest x's and o's guy but it's like ****ing Bruce Arena is. He brought much better players into the team. His downfall is not giving a **** about the Gold Cup and likely getting cucked from above to shoehorn ****ty ****ty MLS guys into his team like Michael Bradley and even worse Chris Wondolowski who seemed immune to being left out of any 25-man roster

the simple answer is that the USSF has cared much much more about making $$$ than actual investment into the game over the last decade+. I'll again trot out the number that they were bragging about being $100m in the black. Doesn't matter that WE DIDN'T ****ING QUALIFY FOR THE WORLD CUP!!!! Nawwwwwww, but we're $100m in the black

Well, after a few minutes of watching, the team needs to contact Ron Woodroof for some Peptide T and DDC

This has been one of the most unwatchable soccer games I've ever seen. A bunch of highly rated MLS dudes are terrible. Who knew. New prez better fix this **** and realise our domestic league blows and isn't an adequate level for our NT players

First 10 minutes of Zardes unable to control a pass in the air made me punch things. This guy has featured for our real team in the past

The B team of a country of 3.5 million makes our MLS stars look incompetent.

The USMNT was not abused enough as children. They're too pussy to play in Europe because then they would have to move away from mommy and daddy. If I was director I would make anyone playing on an MLS team ineligible for the USMNT. I'd rather take someone playing in the second league in Latvia over any of these MLS bums.

yeah.. i recall one most pathetic touch, down close in the box, that went right to the defender for an easy clearance. He did effort a header a short time later that he ran a distance from outside the box to manage. Morris deflected, skied cross from in close. But, we've had enough of that Lalas' Men's National Team - high on effort, short on everything else recipe. No thx
