Any comment on how likely the US is to get out of their group? I feel I would nod the England game as a lock L because their quality is too good. Can’t see the US successfully parking the bus and holding England to a draw honestly. Hate to say it but think that first game against Wales will tell us if the US can escape the group. I would lean they will finish 3rd in group but hope they can somehow get a 2nd.

Think we need a healthy Pulisic and Reyna to have a shot to escape group. If one of those injury prone players isn’t around, think the US team becomes much less lethal (not sure would ever call a us team lethal on the offensive side but we will see).

It’s because the golf in LA is better than anywhere else he logically would’ve gone. Can’t see him playing for St Mirren or anyone like that in the Scottish league

God I hope you are right. I don’t trust berhalter. I could see us finishing 2nd and getting washed in first ko game if they play a tough team. I’m not a fan of the striker situation with the US. If we had a player closer to the caliber of a Reyna or pulisic up top- I would feel more confident.

Also wanna see more euro league players starting than lol mls. Feel the CB situation is sketchy for the US. I would like to see them play Tyler adams deep defensively helping the back line. Think they should just play defensively and try to beat teams by 1 goal honestly. I feel so much pressure bc we lose to England- we need results in other two games. One goes to a tie- it gets really really close with what happens.

Think we are one cycle of 4 years of being in a solid spot with such young talent.

Fwiw people said the same thing about England playing the US in 2010. England was supposed to get 9 points and destroy the group. The US had a great group because the chance to get 2nd looked good, but nobody seriously talked about winning the group or even getting a draw with England.

Of course, people will give reasons why this time is different, but people were super confident in England back then and predicting a draw would have likely gotten laughed at.

People also said the same thing about Portugal playing the US in 2014. Nobody for the US was good enough to start for Portugal except at goalie and Portugal had Ronaldo and the US had Altidore (who got injured, but that was our striker going into the tournament).

While people may have underrated the USA, those England/Portugal teams were not good. No one thought they had more than a puncher chance to win either tournament. Obviously some people think any 11 englishmen could win a world cup, but no one we should take seriously.

Assuming: 1. Either Reyna is healthy or Pulisic is in good form; 2. We don't lose someone else (like McKennie) to injury, then:

England: 90%
USMNT: 50%
Wales: 40%
Iran: 20%

Sarge cannot stop scoring as an actual striker. Another goal today

Get him back in the USMNT setup. Anything is a better option than Jesus Ferreira

# of defenders over £3m valuation:

Championship - 27
MLS - 9

Haji added another 2 goals. Pefok somehow didn't score in a 6-1 win, but is helping Union crush in Bundesliga.

Pepi actually got to start, but Augsburg never scores anyway.

Sargent has worn out his welcome for this cycle. Maybe next one he figures it out and is consistent? Haji deserves a shot before him now.

And they both deserve shots over Ferreira and Pepi. LOL at criticizing Championship defending as an argument to go with the bang average lol MLS striker

anybody concerned yet about PuliGOAT getting limited minutes and looking like dog doo doo on the pitch when he does get minutes?

edit: all that said, Tuchel nvr puts him in his best position on the left wing

Tuchel is the problem, not Puli. He needs to leave now but they're holding him hostage.

Guy's a joke manager. Only loves his little german Havertz and Mount his little english puppy, who have done nothing this year
