Yah, sure seems like it. Most of their stars are getting older.
Guardado is ancient as are both goalkeepers.
Hector Herrera - 31
Raul Jimenez - 30
Tecatito - 28
Even Chucky is already 26
They were positioned fairly well for the next World Cup, but Chucky has not really panned out and Raul Jimenez had a massive injury.
Their younger generation has a couple bright spots, but they'll need to hit on almost every young player, and that never happens. Meanwhile the USA have like 3-5x as many youngsters floating around Europe now, so you'd have to be a little delusional to think it will even be all that competitive in 5-10 years.
Canada has Davies and David, but really the cupboard looks kinda bare beyond that. I think it will be still be a while until they're truly a threat for 2nd in CONCACAF. You can't say they didn't have an excellent Gold Cup though, so maybe they surprise.
It will be interesting to see where they finish in the Octo, would love to see some odds.
