So this match is in Haiti and the return leg mid-week in Chicago?

Would be a big win if they can hold on, not watching, but doesn't seem like many chances going around.

Canada looked disheveled most of the game. Haiti was worse. Canada definitely has more talent.

what a total disgrace to the footballing world your fans are.

Mexico sanctioned by FIFA for recurrence of fans' anti-gay chant

Quote:
According to FIFA's statutes on discrimination, more severe punishments may be given for future breaches in order to stamp out the behavior. Those include a reduction in points in official tournaments including World Cup qualifiers, or Mexico being banned entirely from any tournament under FIFA's purview, including the World Cup itself.
One time dealer.

idk if anyone cares, but we're back in action again this weekend as the Gold Cup starts on Saturday. This is the USA team:

USMNT GOLD CUP ROSTER BY POSITION (Club; caps/goals):

GOALKEEPERS (3): Brad Guzan (Atlanta United; 64/0), Sean Johnson (New York City FC; 9/0), Matt Turner (New England Revolution; 1/0)

DEFENDERS (8): George Bello (Atlanta United; 1/0), Reggie Cannon (Boavista/POR; 18/1), Shaq Moore (Tenerife/ESP; 5/0), Donovan Pines (D.C. United; 0/0), Miles Robinson (Atlanta United; 3/1), James Sands (New York City FC; 0/0), Sam Vines (Colorado Rapids; 3/0), Walker Zimmerman (Nashville SC; 14/2)

MIDFIELDERS (6): Kellyn Acosta (Colorado Rapids; 31/2), Gianluca Busio (Sporting Kansas City; 0/0), Sebastian Lletget (LA Galaxy; 24/7), Cristian Roldan (Seattle Sounders; 20/0), Eryk Williamson (Portland Timbers; 0/0), Jackson Yueill (San Jose Earthquakes; 12/0)

FORWARDS (6): Paul Arriola (D.C. United; 35/8), Daryl Dike (Orlando City; 3/1), Nicholas Gioacchini (Caen/FRA; 3/2), Matthew Hoppe (Schalke/GER; 0/0), Jonathan Lewis (Colorado Rapids; 7/2), Gyasi Zardes (Columbus Crew; 56/12)

euro-based players pretty much given the tourney off other than daryl dike. any thoughts (other than lol mls)?

If it were me, I probably wouldn't have included any player over 25. Guys like Tardes and Zimmerman will never factor in again in the future, so what's the point in wasting minutes on them now? Where are guys like Caden Clark and Cade Cowell who will probably be in Europe soon and could realistically be fighting for spots in future World Cups.

There are a couple interesting players included: Dike, Gio, Busio, Bello, Cannon, but a couple missed opportunities as well.

It's our B team and the Gold Cup so I think we should just play whoever we think gives us the best chance to win. Would definitely like to beat Mexico again.

I know it's the B team, even more reason to just go young and develop guys for the future. If the veterans were clearly better, that's one thing but I doubt Zardes or Zimmerman are noticeably better than some of these younger guys and the latter have the possibility of developing into something in the future.

Mexico's squad is probably an A- team, mostly Liga MX guys but also brought in a half dozen of their Euro studs (Chucky, Tecatito, Álvarez, HH). Gonna be tough to beat that team with almost none of our Euro guys.

I hear you and I don’t know how much better our coach thinks these players are but experience matters. It’s not the World Cup but it’s also not a bunch of friendlies and I don’t want them dropping games to Canada and Haiti.
