Final in Las Vegas and using the flying AC sun-blocking technology that won't quite be ready for 2022 Qatar.

Isn't Vegas building a dome for the Raiders anyway?

The issue with Chicago is the field size iirc

Azteca is awesome.

I don't get what Mexico is getting out of this if they only host 10 games and none from the qf on. I guess of they do make the qf for once, they'll play that in SoCal. But still, they've hosted tournaments on their own before and they're obviously almost a lock to qualify anyway unlike Canada.

61/62K is still bigger than the majority of football stadiums used for the World Cup and/or Euros. Even if size is a slight issue, Chicago being one of the biggest cities and offering up way more than Indy should tip the scales well in Chicago's favor.

because they aren't getting it on their own again over USA#1 (maybe ever), so take this or you get nothing i guess

would suspect that every subsequent CONCACAF bid will be similar, but maybe with more weighting to Mexico and/or Canada next time (2054 ftw!?)

or not

Re: vote not being until 2020. Already a bunch of talk about our bid being fast-tracked and potentially being official hosts inside the next year. Maybe they have word that other interested parties have decided to pack it in and save the money it takes to bid, knowing it's more or less already been decided.

Gulati has been on record saying he was pretty wary about bidding again after we somehow managed to lose 2022 to a **** hole in the desert, so I think he pretty much knows we're going to win or this wouldn't have happened at all.

New Soldier Field has hosted 2 Gold Cup Finals and this year's MLS All-Star game. I'm 99% sure they can do a 75 yard width no problem which should be fine.
This looks like it's drawn for 71 yards which is on the narrow side.

Yah, seems like everything's already been planned and decided with the new expanded World Cup debuting in the USA.

Gotta think the final is in Jerryworld. Fifa would nut over filling that building.

If it's something they want to like, they'll say soccer will make things "better", if it's something they don't want to like, they'll say FU you don't deserve it. 3 years is a long time until the vote, but I could see them holding US politics as a reason why we shouldn't get it.

I'm not trying to politard here and I'm neither R or D, but I think political perception of the world has a big influence on these votes.
those countries literally paid bribes to get the world cup. lol social justice

TBH Chicago was a poor host city for the Copa america (coming back again. $$$$$$$$) at least for the USMNT.

WE INVITE THE WORLD*

*Apart from a load of brown folk.

Surely FIFA delegates will have an issue voting (for free) for the people that brought their dirty secrets into the public domain.

When I was a pup, we got spanked by presidents til the cows came home. Donald Trump spanked me on two non- consecutive occasions!

Seriously though, US football wants their bid confirmed asap and the way a few have posted here they (USSF) must think it's a sure thing already.

So who has paid?

I was at the 2013 Gold Cup match against Honduras that was at Jerryworld. I thought it was a great turnout and experience for soccer in general.

After thinking about this joint bid for a couple days I have come to the conclusion that I hope USA#1 pulls out of the bid and doesn't bid at all or bids by themselves. I think FIFA wants a USA#1 WC more than USA#1 wants a WC - why the hell should we share it with our little bros to the north or that war torn **** hole of a country to the south.

Just so you know, a lot of the violence in Mexico is caused by that country's cooperation in a drug war that is largely driven by US consumption.

So maybe save the "USA is the greatest" rhetoric for your family reunions and your local bar, and try not to interject your special brand of stupidity into this conversation. Thanking you in advance.
