Obviously no. I'm just wondering if the tie hits after 90 or after 120

The 3-way lines are always for 90 mins. You'll probably find "to lift the trophy" or some other variation if you just want to bet on the winner of the final.

So today I learned:

- LOL Mexico
- LOL Cruzin
- For all the hate he gets Brek Shea is going to be a great player once he matures.
- Landon Donovan is not the Landon Donovan of old.
- Holden is an A team starter if he stays healthy
- FOX world cup coverage will suck like Mexico.
- The next generation of Mexican-Americans won't root for El Tri.

No, Beckerman won't be on it. Maybe.

The XI?

I'd say:

-----------Jozy----------
Landy-----Deuce-----Zusi
-----Jones----Bradley----
Johnson-Besler-OG-Chandler
---------Howard---------

Cameron could easily start, either in midfield, or at Right Back (covers CB as well. He's 100% on the plane, and with a good year in the EPL could easily be a starter).

Dolo could start at right back as well.

I gave OG the nod over Goodson, but Goodson is definitely in with a chance, could go either way.

Fabian could move forward, push Landy to the right, and Zusi to the bench (or Fabian just go to the right himself) but who the **** is gonna play lb?

I mean, I think Beasley's little comeback has been awesome and I'm thrilled for him, but he should not be the starting lb.

Someone could always emerge late (Brooks?) and obviously form/fitness may be different. Think that's about the base of it though.

What I think the World Cup roster will be (as of right now, assuming no injuries/Holden is not badly injured after today):

Goalkeepers: Howard, Guzan, Rimando

Defenders: F. Johnson, Goodson, Gonzalez, Besler, Chandler, Parkhurst, Beasley

Midfielders: Bradley, Jones, Holden, Corona, Zusi, Cameron, Shea, Diskerud

Forwards: Altidore, E.Johnson, Gomez, Donovan, Dempsey

Starting Lineup

Howard
Chandler Besler Gonzalez F. Johnson
Bradley Jones
Zusi Donovan Dempsey
Altidore

Think the 3 of Zusi, Donovan, and Dempsey can interchange really well. I personally would start a healthy Stu over Jones, but I don't think Klinsmann would.

Rocket poker's 23 looks pretty close to me.

I think Dolo has a great shot at the plane unless he declines significantly.

Danny Williams and Terrence Boyd probably the best odds of guys you don't have going. I think Boyd > Gomez by that time probably for exampel.

Yeah, think Dolo can take Parkhurst's spot if he's healthy. Big question though.

I like Boyd, but I think he's a carbon copy of Eddie. Gomez brings something a bit different to the table. Williams is going to have to get PT at Reading, and even then, I don't think he gets ahead of Holden/Mix. Maybe Cameron, but Cameron is versatile in that he can play CB, RB, and CDM.

I also think these 15 guys are mortal locks 100% to make the World Cup Squad unless injured.

Goalkeepers: Howard, Guzan,

Defenders: F. Johnson, Goodson, Gonzalez, Besler, Chandler

Midfielders: Bradley, Jones, Zusi, Cameron,

Forwards: Altidore, E.Johnson, Donovan, Dempsey

Last edited by stakman1011; 07-29-2013 at 12:10 AM. Reason: Yep, I think Cameron's a complete lock because of his versatility

Goalkeepers(3): Tim Howard, Brad Guzan, Nick Rimando

Defenders(7): Matt Besler, Omar Gonzalez, Clarence Goodson, Fabian Johnson, Eric Lichaj, DaMarcus Beasley, John Anthony Brooks

Midfielders(7): Michael Bradley, Jermaine Jones, Graham Zusi, Mikkel Diskerud, Brek Shea, Maurice Edu, Alejandro Bedoya

Forwards(5): Clint Dempsey, Jozy Altidore, Herculez Gomez, Eddie Johnson, Landon Donovan

Extra(1): Geoff Cameron

I left Holden off. I fear the worst, and I fear even if it isn't the worst that he won't last an entire season anyway. I hope it isn't the case, and he most likely takes Mix's spot if he is okay and has a good season. Cameron I just listed as extra because he may play any one of 3 different positions.

You guys are playing way too safe! There are definitely going to be changes, and Chandler is not even close to a lock. He's not rated as a RB in Germany at all and is in danger of losing playing time, or not suiting up at RB all year.

Players not on any of our lists that could definitely be in the mix:

Orozco
Castillo
Beckerman if Edu doesn't play for Stoke this season
Williams and Boyd like stak mentioned
Yedlin
Johannsson
Agudelo, Magee, Bruin, McInerney, Wondo
Gatt
Putting Gooch here just for fun, never know if the big guy might finally find form! We can hope.

edit: none of us have said Torres, who could def be there too.
edit 2: Spector

I definitely agree there will be changes; the problem is, predicting who is going to be on form 11 months from now is really difficult. I think stak's mortal locks are spot on, so who else will be on the plane depends a lot on what happens between now and May/June of next year.

I just decided to have a little fun with my projection. It's not a World Cup starts tomorrow roster at all. It's my guess, and partial hope because I do think it's a good roster.

If we aren't playing Brad Evans and DMB at our outside back spots in the WC, we're going to be okay. That's the goal for Jurgen over the next 11 months.

Agree wholeheartedly with this. Both have been fine over the last 2 months, but would get worked against the better teams that we may have to face in Brazil.

Jurgen is going to find a way to take Beckerman. Book it.

Meh I think there's a place for beckerman on the squad. Starting ever? No. Defensive sub? Yeah that works.

Don't have an answer for that. He's a good player and plays both ways. Not sure I see him as a 90 minute player at the highest level though.

Not sure where to put this but Bob Bradley was on the Daily Show talking mostly about coaching Egypt and the cluster**** they're in. Interesting stuff. Here's the link.

Bob Bradley info is welcome here imo. Even if he wasn't particularly enjoyed as a national team coach, he still is a big part of our history and I still think well of him. I know others do too.

Everyone that plays FB and isnt named Fabian is 50/50 at best to make the squad. Just too many questions all around.

Altidore, Dempsey, Donovan, Bradley will all start if healthy. Every other starting spot is up for grabs iyam. Tim is like 95%. Jermaine maybe 75%. Same with Fabian.

Guzan and Cameron will make the roster. Zusi and Beckerman are near locks as well. One of Mix/Holden/Torres will go and only 1. We will be pissed when Beckerman is selected and they aren't. If Shea has a even just a decent season he will go as well before them as well because he provides width, which only Zusi does otherwise.

Besler is the most likely of our CBs to start. Goodson is probably second. Omar third. Our backline is a sieve and will likely get served in Brazil. Repeatedly. If Brooks declares in the next 6 weeks he's better than a favorite to go imo. If not then who the hell knows. Edu maybe because of versatility. Cameron could play CB as well.

Depth at forward probably comes from EJ and Herc. Nobody else is knocking on the door imo. Soooo my best guess as of today:

GK: Howard, Guzan, Rimando

D: Fabian, Besler, Goodson, Omar, Chandler, Evans, DMB

D/M: Cameron

Wildcard MF: Williams

MF: Bradley, Jones, Zusi, Beckerman, Shea, Mix

M/F Donovan, Dempsey

F: Jozy, EJ, Herc

At camp, not on the final roster unless injuries happen: JFT, Stu, Wondo, Gooch, Edu, Orozco Fiscal
