I'm a fan of SK coming in... I don't get to see him play much obv, but he's getting a solid run in Europe, so he deserves a spot.

The prices on stubhub have to come down. Tickets are still available on the halfway line 20 rows up for 111. Going for 90 right now on stubhub for the 3rd row in the same section.

Interesting article from the usually pretty good jeff carlisle:

http://espn.go.com/sports/soccer/new...arlisle-soccer

I'll save you all the trouble of reading it. The thesis is basically, "maybe MB shouldn't be an automatic starter and we should consider Edu and Jones together in the midfield." And this because MB didn't play enough for Aston Villa.

I think in the past cycle MB was our best player. You could probably make arguments for Deuce, Landy, and maybe even Howard, but for me it was Bradley. Even the idea of benching him for the Gold Cup seems absurd to me.

Whatever the problems the USMNT has, MB is the absolute least of them. I predict that he'll be the best player in the Gold Cup from any team.

Can't wait, starting to get really excited for the tournament. I really hope Bradley trusts Ream and Agudelo, and I could see either/both of them having breakout tournaments. Obviously there are some other significant holes (LB anyone) but hopefully we'll both weather the mistakes and come out with the trophy.

I figure we'll essentially rotate JJ, Edu, and maybe MB to try to find the best partnership in the center of midfield. I really want to win this tournament, and I would think our Confed Cup run will make BB realize how critical it is..

I like MB90. I really like stak's posts. But to say he'll be the best player when Chicharito is playing in the cup is a bit out there.

You know me stak, I used to think that the easiest way to tell if I should pay attention to someone itt is to ask what they think about MB. However, it's a fair question to ask given the fact he hasn't been playing.

Obviously this seems like something you have to evaluate in camp/one of the nearly worthless group games.

it isn't just MB not playing at all for villa, but also that Jones played well for Blackburn as well. The US needs to really start going with players who are actually playing as opposed to relying on guys who have done well for us in the past but aren't playing

I will be ridiculously surprised if workhorse MB90 isn't playing just fine as far as we're concerned even though he didn't get time at Villa. I cringe so hard when I see/hear people complain about him. He's very good.

its not a question of his talent, but one of him being out of form at the moment from not playing

I agree, of course, but Bradley has just been so consistent in his career that I think there is a good chance that he won't have any problems keeping it going despite essentially not playing at all in the past few months.

No no, don't get me wrong, I'm not saying MB>Chicharito as a player or anything like that, I'm just guessing that in the tiny sample size of this tournament MB will be very good and perhaps the best player in the tournament.

Any chance that we come out with MB JJ and Edu together in the center against Spain? Seems like this could be one way to counter their midfield attack and would also give Bradley a chance to see all three of them play.

You mean against Mexico right?

That will all depend on how things went in earlier rounds.

this may be possible, but jones has played well for blackburn and has been playing down the stretch in a relegation battle and edu was playing for rangers too. Like I said, its time we stop relying on players who haven't been playing when there are other very good players that have been on form. Our talent pool isn't that thin anymore to be doing this

I wouldn't mind to see us doing this with deuce and landy on the wings with jozy or aguedelo (granted they both bring very different aspects) up top. We have the players to play this system and we need to favor the midfield as much as possible since that's our strongest area on the team

edit: I should note that I have no problem with bradley playing in a 3 man CM, but if we go fully empty bucket I don't want him starting over jones or edu because of him not playing for villa

WTF? That's absurd, no wonder your country isn't taking to soccer.

How much is an MLS game on avg?

I was looking into getting seasons for FC Dallas this year and a decent ticket was ~$500. Iirc it was 18 matches included.

Just looked up Houston's. Theirs is comparable except they have a larger GA area that's like $370.
