I do think a big part of it is that millionaire athletes in their late 20s and 30s aren’t going to be impressed by some loudmouth hardass coming in with no results. In that sense Urb is more akin to Joe Judge than any contemporary college coach

To your point though an autocrat college coach trying to be an autocrat nfl coach will fail 10 times out of 10. Johnson, Carroll, players loved them for the most part. Harbaugh….is unique. He strikes me not at all as an autocrat and a very player friendly coach but also as someone who has zero social ability and is incapable of conveying warmth the way a human being would
