To your point though an autocrat college coach trying to be an autocrat nfl coach will fail 10 times out of 10. Johnson, Carroll, players loved them for the most part. Harbaugh….is unique. He strikes me not at all as an autocrat and a very player friendly coach but also as someone who has zero social ability and is incapable of conveying warmth the way a human being would
I think the problems are college football and the NFL are basically different sports and that by far the most important job of a college coach is recruiting players.
That anyone would give a college coach some huge long term deal to coach in NFL is mind boggling.
