After that bad of a first half we probably didn't deserve better, but man is it tilting to hit the post 3 times in the second half and only get 5 minutes injury time when Red Star was faking injuries and cramping pretty much since minute 55.

IIRC, the 3 I saw were Dortmund losing xG by about 1.7, Buyern by 1, and Leipzig even.

There was a recent article about this when EPL big hitters Burnley and WBA faced off against each other and the ball was in play for 50-60 minutes in total.

The most tilting is keepers on a yellow that blatantly time waste still because they know they are not getting sent off. A few reds here and there would change that I'd imagine

EDIT: 47minutes

I was going to post before today that Wilshere is our best midfielder and this pretty much seals it with how poor xhaka, elneny, coquelin etc have been.

Crvena Zvezda TR!

The match tickets didn't arrive until Tuesday afternoon so thanks Wenger for ensuring we play on Thursday nights and didn't have to worry about delivery details. We took a ride to Mindfckr's parents house which is halfway to Belgrade and tucked into some home cooking. I've actually stayed at his house once before but his Mum had no recollection of me whatsoever so it's nice to know I still have that effect on people.

Match day, we get ready, start on the beers and meet Mindfckr's mate. He's a Chelsea fan but despite this was a nice guy. He must have some hidden flaw such as pushing black people off trains that couldn't come out during a car journey. He had arranged for us to join some Red Star fans for a rideshare there which we were a bit worried about but turned out great. We drove in a bakery company's van. Plenty of beers were had and some rough local brandy was constantly passed around. All the Red Star lads were a great laugh and a degen afternoon spent drinking was probably the highlight of the trip.

We arrived at the ground 75 minutes before kickoff but didn't get in until 10 minutes after the match started. We were kettled by plod for ages as
they let Arsenal fans on coaches through and many roadblocks. Notable moment here was 2 other Arsenal fans getting bolshy and trying to convince Serbian plod to let them through. We tried to get them to calm down to no avail so we washed our hands of them and the crisp sounds of metal stick on flesh and flesh hitting concrete promptly ended the discussion for one of them.

Match itself was uneventful but the atmosphere was intense. The noise was unrelenting and you could barely hear youself think Wenger Out.
The Ultras carried on chanting for a good half hour after full time before eventually leaving. We were held back for nearly 2 hours which resulted in us getting very bored and antsy.

Back home with 3 points and no stab wounds. Onto the next one in the ko rounds!

And that doesn't even show douchebag Ashley Williams drilling Lyon's goalkeeper with no intention of winning the ball which set off the skirmish. F Everton, rooting for them to be relegated now.

What we expected

Spoiler:

What we actually got is a family owned bakery van with the picture of their specialty on the side:

The stuff is called "kürtöskalács", looks like this:

there was a picture on the side of the van as well with something like this.

Secret pic from inside the van (we may or may not be intoxicated already)

it is called PÁLINKA (hungarian) and RAKIJA (serbian) - this one was good 'ol hungarian pálinka which is also know as "kertiésszaggató" roughly translated "fence breaker" which implies how you are going to go through the fences rather the door of your cosy home after consuming said beverage.

seeing the guy cry on the pavement was a bit of a discouragement to talk to the police, but since we had no other option to get to the away end, we had to talk to them about our situation.

Thankfully after discussing the situation clearly the po-po was quite helpful letting us through the numerous checkpoints for us to get to game. There was still some confusion as we were ushered in the Zvezda end, but that was quickly corrected by the local steward.

However you could hear, "**** YOU ARSENAL" loud and clear. It was a truly funny, special moment as Delije started the chant(RedStar ultras) and the rest of the stadium finished it up.

Around 00:23 there is an attempt of "you're ****ing ****" and later a "you've only come to see the arsenal", but it was interrupted pretty abruptly. 700 Arse fans vs 48 thousand Zvezda fans. The Giroud goal was great, because the whole stadium went silent.

You could only hear on thing... NANANANA GIROUUUUUD

Some pics from the stadium, our view, AFTV:
