Sort of on track sounds about right. In a beatdown this bad you can always find plenty of stuff that went awry just looking at your own performance, but I'm more inclined to give Ajax credit- even with our struggles this year, this has been the silliest the team has been made look outside of the cup game at Bauern where we were down 3-0 after 20 minutes. Fantastic and fun team you guys have, I'm officially jealous. I guess Fährmann's performance gives us a puncher's chance in the return leg but if Ajax keep the pressure up, I'm not sure what can go wrong for them.
The sad thing is we've produced plenty of players that would fit right into the style of this Ajax team, but managment is reluctant to let them loose and they inevitably get teared and feathered due to wanting too much money or not showing enough fighting spirit or whatever BS reason. Even today after watching Ajax produce a beautiful celebration of football most people's first reaction was lamenting the lack of spirit and will in our side. I seriously think we have the highest share of fat bloke in pub fans in the world.
