If we manage to get two teams in either group stage, we're basically guaranteed to have a direct spot to CL group stage going forward, moving above Netherlands. Considering the by far richest czech teams have a yearly budget of 8-12m euro, that'd be a huge windfall
Wow didn't realize the Dutch had dropped like that but then again of those moving ahead of them only the Czech are surprising if you had not been paying very close attention.
Just noticed they have 2 teams in the qualifiers, ffs they are Asians (only 10% of the country is in Europe) and should be nowhere near the comp never mind getting 2 places.
Yeah, Sparta is at ~11-12m, Plzen at 8m. Rest of the league is 6m or lower. Slavia was bought last year by some super rich chinese, who started spending huge (for example bought Van Kessel, top Slovakian league scorer) for 1.3m euro, which is the 3rd highest fee a czech team paid and highest in over 10 years.
I know some British guys who went into this dodgy bar in Prague, getting about 10 beers at once. Bartender says it's (the equivalent of) ~2€, Brit goes "no, I'm paying for all not just mine", he says "yeah, I know, this is the total!". This was quite some time ago, but **** me regardless!
