For my first pick i take the TV character that has had the biggest effect on little and big kids. Never has a character made kids and adult males apreciate junk as much as him. Nothing was impossible and everything had its use.
just to be clear, we aren't drafting 5 characters for a single show, or an network or something like that, this is just an on-their-own best 5 draft right?
"Ugh, these grandparents. What did they do, huh? What'd that old lady do? Have the girls over for high tea, you know, go to the charity ball? And how about him? What did he do when he wasn't molesting his own daughter, huh? Working on his golf game? Buy low, sell high?
I served my country. I served my city. I spent my whole adult life getting killers and rapists and thieves off the street. I've done good in my life. But they're going to paint me out to be a bum, a drunk. When I've spent my whole life protecting them.
They're going to take Connie's baby, John. And they're going to go through me to do it."
During NYPD Blue's 12 seasons, this character lost his oldest son to a shooting, and a wife to another. He began as an alcoholic womanizer, then mentored John Clark Jr. during the final season, when he saw some of his old traits manifesting in him.
He is, without a doubt, one of the greatest TV characters ever written.
