Tony La Russa expressed surprise, on multiple occasions, that there was second-guessing of his decision to issue an intentional walk to Trea Turner on a 1-2 count. He believed that Turner against a lefty, even with two strikes, was a much bigger threat than Muncy against a lefty
Quote:
La Russa stood by his decisions today, citing Max Muncy’s poor 2022 numbers against lefties, and Trea Turner’s strong numbers after 1-2 counts against lefties over the last three years. He reiterated that he welcomes second-guessing, but that he did not hesitate on these calls

One of the worst managed games in both sides I ever saw was a Mets cardinals 19 inning game

Larussa managed to double switch the pitcher behind Pujols so the Mets just kept walking Pujols with people on base in extra innings to face the pitcher in extra innings w

Naturally he wouldn't pinch hit the backup catcher on the 1000 to 1 shot the catcher gets hurt

Not to be outdone the Mets managed to warm up Krod for TEN straight innings in the bullpen

They also decided to sac bunt with a non pitcher ( I think luis Castillo) with Jose Reyes in his prime at first base off of a POSITION player throwing 70 mph

I'm pretty sure Reyes could have moonwalked to second base against a position player who was throwing lollipops and has no idea how to hold runners on

In the last Cardinals world series in that crazy David freeze game

Larussa managed to burn his Entire bench in the first 9 innings

Due up 3rd down 2 in the bottom of the 10th (11th?) Was the Cardinals pitcher

The world series could have ended with the pitcher making the last out

Instead bc larussa has a horseshoe up his ass the first 2 guys get on,he can bunt the runners over, Cardinals tie the game win it later, win game 7 and people think this muppet is a god damb genius

Tony LaRussa baseball on Sega was a legit game. It was the first game you could “fast play” and finish a game in like 5 minutes everything happened very fast even the animations in that mode

He intentionally walked another player on a 1-2 count loading the bases
The next guy flew out so he he thinks he's a genius

To be fair it would make sense if the batter was Tony Gwynn and Aaron Hicks was on deck

TLR missed today’s game cuz he’s undergoing ‘medical testing’

Very liberal description of getting his BAC checked

Also if something is ACTUALLY wrong with him

Spoiler:
good
