I was pointing out the choke artists aren't 1 shot worse like he was claiming. There is a legitimate choke factor in golf that anyone who has watched it for any length of time can identify (See Speith, Jordan Masters 2016, McIlroy, Rory Masters 2011).

Basically identical if you factor for Tiger not playing this weekend. If your hypothesis was correct that the big guns that are proven winners who can handle their business on a rainy cold Sunday night in Augusta have a significantly larger edge in a major championship then it would be reflected in the betting markets.

The main thing is that a choke doesn't have to be caused by pressure at all. All poor performances under pressure when you are favored to win are technically chokes even when the pressure is not the cause. There is really no way to tell if someone plays poorly BECAUSE of the pressure or if they would have played poorly even without it.

He's been piping the ball off the tee most of the week, he's just not scoring the golf ball. Any other week and he could easily be like 10 or 11 under right now.
