Yeah I didn't want to spoil the Rory win from just 8 hours ago but I had finished watching it this morning. It's sad that Tiger nuthuggers won't accept him. There should be room in your heart for both golfers. They will wake up in 15 years and realize they wish they could have enjoyed rooting for Rory over the last 15 years but it will be too late by then.

It was also funny yesterday when NXT was citing Rory's win total since 2010, when he was 4 strokes ahead with 1 round to play in another tourney.

The Masters should be bananas this year, though. Rory going for career GS, Bubba going for 3 of 4. Phil clutching at straws for 1 more major and his 4th green jacket. Tiger maybe back? Spieth, Reed, Adam Scott, Fowler, Day always in contention, Stenson trying for the first Swedish major win, etc. Matsuyama going for Japan's first (I really like this kid and think he's got balls). Sergio trying to finally get the monkey off his back.

I thought I had seen some joke interviews from an honesty perspective in my day but damn that one a couple weeks ago on ESPN/SportsCenter with Dustin Johnson was awful. Why did he even bother?

Fine. If you think Tiger is the GOAT, it has nothing to do with what happened since 2009. If you don't think Tiger is the GOAT, then literally the only thing he can do to get the title is win 5 majors.

If you think Tiger was the GOAT pre-2009, but isn't now, then you don't know what the phrase "GOAT" means. It's not something that you ever lose on the field/court/course. It's something that someone takes from you by being having a better career.

If Rory becomes the GOAT, it's because of what he does in the next few year, not because Tiger missed the cut in the 2015 Phoenix Open.

He has 15, if you count the Euro Tour, which you should. 4 majors (2 by 8 strokes), and WGC in there. He's got 5 wins (2 majors) since last May.

He's the heavy favorite at Augusta. He's already 4th on the list of most weeks at #1, and should have no problem passing Faldo for 3rd this year (even if he misses every cut he plays in over the next 33 weeks he's probably still at #1). Yes, this has only been around since 1986 or whatever. Still, only Woods and Norman will be ahead on that list. He's 25 years old.

Hate one, hater. He's on pace to be Top 10 all-time for sure. Whether that happens remains to be seen.

Stop talking about GOAT. We all know what it means but people just like to use it in the context of "the next GOAT". We know that doesn't make sense. Settle down.

I'm not a hater. I think he will be top 10 all time. But you have to check back in 5 years to confirm. Way too early to call him that now. His career at age 25 similar to Tiger's at age 25 (end of 2000). Tiger had another decade of dominance on top of that and was the best golfer in the world as recently as 2 years ago.

Well his career arc to this point is similar by age to like... Tiger and Jack. And he's playing in a tougher era than either. He's basically on pace to be Top 3 all-time. Of course a lot can happen but I don't know why you felt the need to come in and start with the negative hyperbole about Rory.

They've obviously watered down from the PGA Tour but lol @ just not counting them.

I highly doubt BIGSOONERFAN has ever even watched a Euro event. Even if a lot of the best players weren't there, Rory still won by 3 strokes (playing super conservative today) over 1 guy and 6 strokes over the rest of the field. It really was never close if you watched all 4 rounds (which I know BSF didn't)

If it was a full field event, yeah maybe he doesn't win, but it's not like he didn't play great golf all week. But yes, this is why full field events are worth more. And why people need to stop ignoring that Tiger won 3 "full field" events in 2013. Sorry they weren't declared with the sacred word "MAJORS". lol. The whole "majors" argument in golf is about as casualfan as it gets.

But the issue is that years ago it was Tiger and his fans who ALL decided that it was all about the Majors. And now that he's not gonna catch Jack, epic goalpost shifting is going on all over.

It doesn't matter what him or his fans say*. If he enters an event, he's trying to win. Everyone who enters the WGCs and The Players is trying to win. Just like Jack was trying to win every regular Tour stop he entered. You argument is one of the worst ever.

Instead of judging someone by 4 of 38 events a year or whatever it is, why not judge them by all events? Why not weight the events and give points out, then give more weight to the more recent events? You know, kinda like the OWGR does? That list is a much better indicator of overall ability than the arbitrary 4 of the 9+ strong field events per season.

*If Wayne Gretzky said you judge a hockey player by how many fights he wins, he'd be wrong. We'd all laugh at him and tell him that he's the GOAT, regardless of what he thinks.

Remember, Jack wasn't trying to win the regular Tour stop events he entered. Even though he drove across country with his 8 screaming kids in the back of his station wagon and his wife probably nagging him the entire trip. He just went there to **** around and try new shots.
