I think it's a little of everything and a lot to do with his physical health.

The groove change rule hurt Tiger more than any other top golfer. Tiger is incredible with his mid irons but bad off the tee so he's in the rough more often. This didn't bother him before the groove rule change as he would routinely hit irons out of light to medium rough closer than other pros could hit it from the fairway. Now it is harder to control spin and hit it close.

His putting is definitely worse. This is normal as golfers get into their late 30's and almost never improves.

Tiger doesn't play many events but it wasn't like he just cherry picked easy fields to get his wins. He plays pretty much just the biggest events with the toughest fields of players. He's not entering the Boone's Farm Classic or whatever. He does play a few big Euro Tour events usually and unless they've changed the rules he does it because he gets 7 figure appearance fees just for showing up which aren't allowed on the PGA Tour.

When he's on he's still really good and his A game beats everyone else's A game except Rory. He just doesn't have it nearly as consistently as he used to where if he had it on Thursday the tourney was over because he wasn't going to get worse. Rory doesn't have any consistency on his A game either. He might have it 1-2 days and be terrible the next and he doesn't have Tiger's excuse of being old and broken down.

Career decline is clearly due to him being a horrible person ie karma which manifests itself in a physical decline and choking at the majors

The naysayers believe that Tiger hasn't had his A game since 2008. I guess that means Tiger's B game beats everyone else's A game (except in the majors).

Tiger just running bad since his last Major win. He'll be back winning 1 or 2 per year once the run of bad luck ends. He is due.

I agree. He's not aging well, given his history of injuries. He will have quite the dilemma of time running out to continue his majors pursuit or taking the time to recover properly.

No he really had surgery Monday. Plus the fallout for that kind of a "joke" would be huge, maybe even lawsuits. Selling tickets to the Masters is serious business.
