not sure if they would check blood on a regular person in this situation. I thought they could only check blood when there was a serious crash that hurt others and caused a lot of property damage.

Woods was driving a Genesis with antilock brakes, cars with antilock brakes don't leave continuous skidmarks (or tire tracks) when the brakes are applied full force. antilock brakes are a series of stop/start pulses that result in spotty tire tracks or scuffmarks on pavement and not continuous ones like you posted.
don't get me wrong, cars with antilock brakes can leave tire marks when the rubber no longer meets the road as it was intended, but nothing like what's shown in that pic.

He's saying he doesn't remember anything. Makes little sense unless he hit his head, which he didn't, or 1. he fell asleep, 2. he was surfing on phone and is using no memory as a cover, 3 ?

I haven't been reading every post, but as someone who drives over 2k km (~1200 miles) per week, I can safely say idc if he was drunk, stoned, half asleep, fully asleep, fapping or having skype sex, it is his responsibility to negotiate turns and hills properly. I'm not a tiger hater, I even had a cat named tiger.

i would have the same attitude about the situation and make the same comments to other posters if it were a completely random person and not Woods, which is the primary reason I’m making the comments.

not sure that a regular civilian would get a blood draw for drugs here either. no one else was hurt. I was under the impression it was pretty tough to get a blood draw.

and from experience its certainly not given whenever they want. cops asked me if I would give blood and I was lol no. they then admitted well, you didnt get in an accident or cause damage so we wont even try for an override or warrant or whatever. ofc they didnt bother with the breathalyzer either bc I was clearly stone sober. point is these ******* cops were being hardasses and couldnt get my blood if they wanted. now I know things change from city to city let alone states but hey personal experience trumps all.

real point is that its not a formality to actually get someone's blood for criminal purposes. not sure that this crash would qualify.

other point is I really wanted to tell my story about ******* cops.

That is a good question Here in Canada that would have been standard.

I have suffered similar injuries but at two different times than Tiger’s all-at-once. Compound tibia and fractured talus (ankle center bone).

I limped for three years on the broken leg but it rejected the hardware. Once it was removed the leg got almost normal fairly quick.

When I split the ankle bone a decade later there was blood under the skin from the toes to the knee. But I got lucky (acc to ortho) and the bone came back together.

Wishing him the best but knowing the work ahead is pretty daunting. Just guessing but I’d think minimum 2 years before he can begin to have a normal leg/ankle. Medicine has progressed a lot since my accidents but healing up and being able put pressure on it takes time (and lots of therapy).

To hopefully clear this up:

A car accident is treated by the police the same as a traffic stop. If they have "probable cause" they can ask you to submit to a breathalyzer at the scene or a later urine or blood test.

This is why the officer quoted above is essentially stating that there was no probable cause at the scene. They might have been by officers at the scene but he's at least doing some CYA on why no tests were conducted. His odd statement about needing a warrant isn't really necessary either if they can show any probable casue. Basically, a lot of CYA by the cops and hoping it all goes away.

Again, my point is the police should be doing a complete investigation, including testing for drugs as not doing that will make people think they are covering it up. If I were Tiger, I'd demand they do blood tests.
