not really, but if looks like a doped up golfer, drives like one and crashes like one then it probably is one.

I bet he wins again officially on tour and goes to 83 breaking the tie. Would take 20/1.

You need a deadline for these type of bets or the person betting on Tiger to play again, etc. will never have to pay. Like the end of 2022.

Of course. When firming up the bet the details are filled in. I've made a few. Had him to win another major at 15/1 within 3 years when he was 800 in the world or something ... and he did it the third year. Just looks like Hogan karma to take the all-time win record from Snead, since he can't get Nicklaus it seems the next best record.

not hating on Tiger, I like him, root for him to win and admire his success. I hope he makes a historic come back and wins the Master's again.

There is a certain amount of schadenfreude when the rich and powerful get busted by the wife doing hookers and blow. Just proves deep down he is really just like us, only better at golf.

You have to be a Tiger hater to use common sense and predict that at 45 with a chronic back and a seriously busted leg, he won't be winning the Masters again? Yeah ok.

Could Tiger Woods have been asleep at the wheel before crash? Forensic experts weigh in.

Some good quotes here:

“To me, this is like a classic case of falling asleep behind the wheel, because the road curves and his vehicle goes straight,” said Jonathan Cherney, a consultant who provides car accident analysis as an expert witness in court cases. Cherney, a former police detective, examined the Woods’ crash site in person since the accident on Tuesday.

“It’s a drift off the road, almost like he was either unconscious, suffering from a medical episode or fell asleep and didn’t wake up until he was off the road and that’s where the brake application came in,” Cherney said.

There were no skid marks on the road to indicate braking, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva. Woods’ vehicle did have anti-lock brakes. So even if he were to slam on the brakes prior to hitting the curb, “you wouldn’t necessarily see tire marks,” said Felix Lee, an accident reconstruction expert who is part of the Expert Institute, a network that provides expert witnesses in litigation.

Lee said a key clue is how the vehicle did not change direction entering the curve and instead went directly into the median.

“My feeling is that speed wasn’t that much of an issue,” Lee said. “It was just some kind of inattention that caused the curb strike.”

After leaving his lane and striking the median, Woods’ vehicle went about 400 feet before stopping. Cherney said he didn't see evidence of "any steering input" that would indicate Woods tried to avoid the emergency.

This suggests a “very delayed response” by Woods to the situation, said Rami Hashish, principal at the National Biomechanics Institute, which analyzes the cause of accidents. “It was suggesting he wasn’t paying attention at all.”

Hashish said he suspects the damage to the vehicle and Woods would have been much greater if he had been traveling at an excessive speed. The speed limit on that road is 45 mph.

“You can walk away with a broken leg from 45 to 50 mph,” Hashish said. “If you’re hitting 60, 65 and you’re hitting a stationary object, your likelihood of death increases exponentially.”

If he was going 80 mph, “he wouldn’t be having an open fracture in this leg,” Hashish said. “He’d be dead.”

Villanueva, the L.A. County Sheriff, said he didn’t know the vehicle’s speed yet but said it could have been a factor, as well as inattentiveness. The accident was serious enough that it could end Woods golf career. He had to be extricated from the vehicle and taken to the hospital for surgery.

“This stretch of road is challenging, and if you’re not paying attention, you can see what happens,” Villanueva said Wednesday.

Villanueva said then that the crash was “purely an accident” and that there was no evidence of impairment or medication involved. He also said Woods was “lucid” at the time a sheriff’s deputy arrived on the scene Tuesday. But that doesn’t mean he might not have been alert when he left his lane and kept going until he crashed.

The experts found it puzzling that Villanueva had determined it to be an accident already without having examined the vehicle’s “black box” computer, which could reveal his steering, braking or acceleration actions prior to impact. Villanueva said Wednesday that information has not been pulled yet.

Regarding an examination of Woods’ blood to see if he was medicated, Villanueva said Wednesday the hospital might have that information.

“We’ll assume that in the course of the treatment they draw blood and they have to do that obviously because he has to go into surgery and all that,” he said. “But that’s going to require a search warrant from our part to go into those details.”

“The traffic collision investigation is ongoing, and traffic investigators have not made any conclusions as to the cause of the collision."

A little to the left is a pole and to the right is a tree. He would have been mashed potatoes of he hit those. He landed in the bush between. That's one heck of a parking job. Or incredibly lucky.

What you're seeing looks very much like a liquid spill, which would make sense if the median strip ripped open his gas or oil tank.

I agree that it looks like a liquid spill, but are people expecting to see skid marks if he his the median/curb first?

EDIT: The spill/skid is in the oncoming lane, yes? If so, then should we expect solid tire contact to produce a skid mark in the oncoming lane after the car is most likely in the air?

Do not fall asleep at the wheel! When you're drunk or stoned at least you know you're drunk or stoned, falling asleep is sneaky af
3 warning signs you're falling asleep
1) your normal speed/the speed limit seems faster than usual. Seems simple enough but is a great clue
2) your eyelids get heavy. This one can last a while and is easy to ignore much like the first step. When blinking feels as good as sex you better start planning to pullover
3) your visual/balance perception rapidly shifts. This varies for different people, but usually includes quick rapid movement of visual cues accompanied by brief bouts of very temporary dizziness. When this happens even once it is time to stop driving. As this continues you will slip out of consciousness without even realizing it

People are just going to speculate there is a cover-up. Just say we are going to have a complete investigation.

Yes on the oncoming lane. He hit the median strip first and you can see where he hit it. Min 1.50 there is is a visable line from the median to oncoming lane and wreck.

Health experts say he could be fit in 6 to 8 month. Maybe sooner. Tiger is goat. But I would advice him not to play anymore. Why would he still play? I mean on that level. That accident took place 2 days after his spinal surgery.

When I was watching local news coverage the crew was applying some kind of oil collection substance similar to sand. So basically 100% it was an oil/gas spill.

After LACSD screwed up the Kobe Bryant crash scene I think they were wise to favor Tiger and not face another wall of litigation.
