IMO driving/flying for such employers is likely to impair one's judgment occasionally. Undoubtedly would be the same for Tiger, but still would seem to have been a good option.

this is like non-survivorship bias.

we don't record the million times having a driver prevented an accident.

also it doesn't need to be an expensive limo driver. how many accidents has uber/lyft prevented?

After having a few days to think about it and talking to the wife about it, she reminded me he's won after back surgeries, knee surgeries and on a broken leg. I'm all-in on he wins another major, actually going to make a nice bet on it.

He’s 45 years old, has won one major since 2008, has a terminally bad back and may never walk properly again. Don’t take sports advice from the wife.

believe it or not, admitting you were wrong and changing your opinion shows much more strength and intelligence when compared to defending something that is indefensible.

in summary, **** you haters. there currently is no evidence he was on pills or otherwise under the influence

I haven't been following it closely, but how has it been proven that Tiger wasn't intoxicated? Only thing I read was that LE said he didn't appear drunk.

He was arrested less than four years ago while asleep at the wheel under the influence of two opioids, plus Ambien & Xanax. It's not exactly a stretch to believe that there's a very good chance he was under some of these (or similar) substances in this instance as well.

lol at blaming the road, because it's downhill and not perfectly straight

I think we can agree that just like poor people like myself should sometimes use Uber, rich people like Tiger should sometimes use a driver. We all make judgement calls, and accidents can and will happen, but I think this was one instance where Tiger should not have driven himself.

How does a person with some of the best hand/eye coordination on the planet wreck on a road routinely navigated by soccer moms and 17 year old girls texting on their phone?

A rich celeb gets more leeway than the average pregnant mom. LOL at anyone making Tiger take a drug test.

In Fergeson v. Charleston S.C., a hospital required physicians to test all pregnant mothers for cocaine, regardless of clinical presentation. The physicians were instructed to forward positive results to local law enforcement.

Honestly texting and driving or surfing the internet for the latest joe Biden conspiracy theories is way more dangerous than popping a pain pill.

I types in Genesis car. So Tiger is basically driving a Hyundai? I mean I believe you, since Toyota has Lexus.

"Hyundai's
Genesis is Hyundai's luxury brand. The Genesis name first appeared on a flagship Hyundai sedan beginning with the 2009 model year. After that, it morphed into the South Korean automaker's luxury division beginning in 2017 with a two-model lineup, the G80 and G90 sedans.10 Oct 2020"

I feel gutted for Tiger and I'm not really huge fan. Just a horrible thing to have happen. However, in his interview with Nantz the day before he was slurring words (albeit slightly) and looked puffy terrible. Chances to me that he was impaired were way >50%.

Also agree with driving comments above. Can drive a ball thru a 2" gap but can't drive an SUV on clear day with no traffic? Comon'.

yeah, I think there's a lot more (prior) evidence supporting the likelihood that he was under the influence of at least one substance where driving isn't allowed under its influence, than for it being a random accident due to a "hazardous" road.

it's L.A., just about every road has accidents on it

1. As best I can tell from the videos and google maps, it appears that that stretch of road bends fairly gently to the right.
2. His car (reportedly) jumped the center median, went across the southbound lanes of traffic and into the trees on the opposite side.
3. There were (again reportedly) no skid-marks.

So the road went right, the car went straight, and he didn't break?
To me, this just SCREAMS "fell asleep at the wheel".

Also, this may be apropos-of-nothing, but drowsiness is a known side-effect of most narcotics. Maybe applicable, maybe not.

that stretch of road has enough of a downhill grade that it has a bailout area for trucks that lose their breaks because the decent is that severe.

yeah but if you're in a normal car (or luxury suv!) driving downhill isn't really dangerous at all, and definitely doesn't cause anyone to launch themselves off a cliff or whatever the **** he did there

Yeah for semis pulling a fully loaded 45 ft trailer not a doped up golfer speeding in a rush

Is there a downhill grade % sign? I remember driving thru Arizona many times and some of those grades are pretty brutal even in a car. Not that you would wreck, but if you were not paying attention for sure.
