think the ball striking is more important ... the putting rounds will come, off and on, as always, less on nowadays though

Re: Tiger Woods Career From Here (GLUTES OFFICIALLY ACTIVATED)

What kind of line would anyone make that he will win a major this year?

Update: I see he is 14/1 to win Masters in one spot, so 7/2 seems a reasonable number that he would win a major this year ... though that seems kind of low.

i'd say closer to 9/2

the Masters is the easiest major to win because the field is not as deep, the other majors he is closer to 20/1

I considered the factor that Augusta favors his game more than the other setups, but not sure that is so true any more as he has very little of his short game magic any more, it seems.

I'd make him +550 to win a major this year. Pretty subjective. I took yes at 15/1, but at 5/1 I'd definitely be balking, so my number is around there.

I think the US Open is the easiest tournament for Tiger at this point in his career. He canít win if the winning score is gonna be -12 or better imo. But I think he can limit the damage and win when the winning score is E or -1.

Interesting theory except he just won the Tour Championship at double digits under par even with a 1 over par round on Sunday

Interesting take because he except for brief stretches was never a straight hitter, which is most punished at US Open, and an occasional British Open setup. Anyway, I like him to win more of them. Only Koepka on his A-game held him off last year, Tiger at 27-to-1 or something crazy.

He can win where his putter does not get in the way. Probably Bay Hill.

Old age is tough sledding. More than glutes to worry about. Perhaps he needs a MyPillow.

Assume he is trying to avoid a PR hit for skipping Arnie’s event, but definitely drawing live to pill addiction or more personal drama.

sad to see eldrick's career over like that. we'll always have the 18 player SNG he won last year where it seemed TIGER was big time back.

Re: Tiger Woods Career From Here (GLUTES OFFICIALLY ACTIVATED)

Been spending all day reading Dan Jenkins articles/interviews since he passed away last night.

I was 13 years old in 2001 and read SI, GD, and GM cover to cover every week/month, so I probably read this but coming across the interview now is hilarious in hindsight.

Dan Jenkins: The Golf Digest Interview

Quote:
How many majors do you think Tiger will win?

Two years ago I would have said 10 or 12, but now I put the over-and-under at 24. He already has nine [including three U.S. Amateurs], he's only 25, and he's proved there's nobody even remotely in his class.

I never thought I'd ever see a greater shotmaker than Hogan or a greater winner than Nicklaus, but I have. It's Tiger. Not that I still wouldn't want Ben to get the drive in the fairway for me for my life. But Tiger makes all those other slugs out there today look like they don't even know how to play. We're talking about a truly remarkable athlete here. Something the game has never seen. Only two things can stop Tiger--injury or a bad marriage.
