The way he was playing and the fact he was consistently in the mix on Sunday made winning inevitable but great to see him get over the line in the end. One of the great comeback stories in sport.
Still owe the original post in this thread a lot of credit: at the time it was a brave enough prediction that was accurate in terms of majors; but it did morph into something much worse and it looked like he could never return at a certain stage. A great thread with a happy ending - even if he’ll never catch Jack.
Yeah. We need a few sarcastic BIG TIME BACK comments from Woody and Rat, and then some wisdom from WichitaDM about how fragile Tiger's mental state is.
The above makes it all the more remarkable. The history of golf is littered with players that lost it psychologically and never recovered. None of them with near the pressure and spotlight/tabloid scrutiny of Tiger.
Watching the gallery running behind him chanting his name on the 18th hole is one of the biggest moments in sports I can ever remember watching live. Was just in awe the entire time.
Like Eddy said it was straight out of a movie. Rory had to run to his ball to keep ahead of the hordes ffs. I legit thought someone might get crushed or security might get overrun.
Coming down 18 Rory told Tiger ''This is like the '80 us open when people yelled Jack is back.'' Tiger : ''Yeah, except I don't wear tight pants and I don't have hair.''
to come back from a point less than a year ago where he could barely sit down to winning the tour championship and be a late birdie away from winning the fedex cup (ie the best player on tour) is a sports miracle
