Nah. Some moments are bigger than others. To say everything is the same all the time no matter what, whether he's leading/close to lead/5 shots back/or 15 shots back, or whether it's the quicken loans or a major, seems a little disingenuous to me.

He was **** off the tee for most of the day, but started to get better with it on the back 9. It's not just sample size that he sliced it into the hazard on 17 when he knew he absolutely had to have it for eagle. Then he goes to 18 knowing it's probably over and drills driver in the fairway. I've seen enough of him this year to believe that isn't pure coincidence.

You're talking about the difference between a real chance of winning if he does something on 17 versus the minuscule chance if he does anything on 18.

To not make that distinction is mind blowing to me.

He shot a 64 in a final round when he needed a 62 just to tie which would be the best final round ever shot in a major. But yeah, he chokes under pressure.

It was a relatively forgiving course for errant drives. His iron game and putting looked great, but he has to get his driving under better control.

But yeah, he has far exceeded my predictions for his year. Or the rest of his career actually.

Regarding Tiger, there was no Brooks Koepka to deal with when he won most of those 14 majors. Nobody was pounding drives 330 after pounding 330 pounds in the weight room the same morning. 15 years ago, that final round 64 wins the tournament. The boom he created is his biggest problem.

He still needs to get his driver under control or there will always one of Johnson, Day, Rory, Speith, JT, Koepka, Rose and on and on who "will" be on with their driver on any given week, and he will not win.

I think a Tiger that can hit driver would/could be back to #1 in the world by mid-next year. He wont be as dominant as he was, but I think that is a given.But nothing new happens if he cant get that club in play....

I am still puzzled by all the women that cheer for Tiger, but hey, that is not Tiger's fault.. And, it doesn't make me a Tiger hater to be surprised by it.
