VY in 2005 had a passer rating of 163.9 and averaged 6.8 YPC. I believe he is also the only BCS conference 3k/1k player.

Not having Tommie Frazier on there means you're wrong.

i believe he didn't even give up a sack in his entire college career (i could be wrong about this but i've heard it before)

0 allowed in his last two seasons, not for his career.

Nebraska's cupcake schedule was so pathetic in this era that it's impossible to judge the merits of any of their players during this period.

LOLOL. Please please try to argue against 1995 Huskers being not the GOAT. I could use the amusement.

Clark, see the Michigan avatar. Michigan fans have an inherent hatred for Nebraska.

ILOVEPOKER is Greear's alter-ego. He recently admitted that he hasn't a sports bet since 1999.

This may be the dumbest thing you've ever said, and you have said a lot of dumb things this year. You're basically holding it against me for losing 20-30 coin flips in a row. Nice. You realize that's all sports betting is for 99+% of the betting population right?

They weren't even the greatest team in the 90's. That honor goes to Penn State 1994.

FWIW, I think NEB would have beaten Michigan in 1997.

The mods sure do own around here lately. First they send all the team threads over to the corner so they can't play with the other kids....now they won't even let them be. They strip them of any personality they have....remove the years from title....I mean WTF is going on here? Now Charles Woodson the GOAT can't even get an appreciation thread???? With all the LOL topics that stay on the first page due to no team threads...

Seriously the mods on here besides Tuq are causing this place to get gayer by the day. I predict everyone will be forced to have picture of a penis as their avatar by this time next year. After that, who the **** knows.

Um, no. I'm a huge PSU fan, and while that team was certainly stacked, NEB would have likely shredded them. The only question would be could PSU score with them each time. The answer would be probably not.

Well obviously we'll never know that. Look I'm fully aware of the impressive accomplishments of the Nebraska 1995 team. I agree that they are one of the best teams of all time, but let's not fool ourselves into thinking we can actually resolve which team is best amongst the very best. At some point we have to be honest here and admit we're all just peahens claiming which peacock has the best plumage. It's easy to separate the best plumages from the worst or mediocre or even the good, but figuring out the best amongst the very best is impossible to do objectively. It's like figuring out who's the hottest girl amongst the 100 hottest girls in the world. At some point, it can only be done subjectively. My girl is Penn State 94. Your girl is Nebraska 95. I respect your opinion.

'95 Nebraska would have shat on 1994 Penn st. IMO...also, LOL @ someone citing Nebraska's "easy" schedule in the 1990's.....1995 Nebraska obliterated 4 top 10 teams in 1995 by a combined score of 196 - 73, including a 62-24 curb-stomping of #2 Florida.....a Florida team that would go on to win the National Championship the next season, mind you....'95 Nebraska had 27 future pro's on their roster, and 9 All-Americans.

Edit: ILOVEPOKER, I see that you are aware of just how stacked the Huskers were in '95, so I guess this post is just directed elsewhere

Well I do think your post has a right to be directed at me. I do think Nebraska had an easy schedule for most of the early 90's. This in large part is why I predicted Nebraska's dominant run would end when the Big 12 formed. Their schedule got tougher essentially over night. I'm sure there are multiple causes on why NEB's great run ended and we could have good debates over that. I think the tougher schedule is one of them.

Either way, I must admit that I had forgotten how tough Nebraska's schedule was in 95 when I made my earlier "cupcake schedule" statement. Nebraska 95 is definitely a team that deserves to be in the conversation of GOAT. However, I'm still going with Penn St 94

Yes, I think that debate would be pretty interesting....I honestly still feel that firing Frank Solich was a terrible decision, he got fired after what? A 9-4 season? 2 years removed from playing for a national title? To be honest though, I kind of just miss their mutiple I option offense, I loved watching that scheme at work
