the only perfect solutions for OT are the ones that don't change the rules specifically for the sake OT. IE, how college basketball and NBA do it. that is perfect. it's the same game, just with an extra period!
college football creates a completely different rule set for OT which might be exciting but is pretty dumb. you remove punting, punt returning, kicking off, and kick returns. teams that are better / put more emphasis on special teams get screwed. plus the entire idea of matching scores doesn't exist in regulation, it only exists in OT. if it's a completely different game than the 60 minutes that just preceded it, that's flawed.
