I thought the game was incredibly consistent and the ref who nailed the Edelman catch was the perfect example, these guys were on point in every situation.
Yes. They did quite the good job.

Not true. I am a die hard Red Sox fan but loved watching Mariano Riviera ( GOAT) pitch against anyone but Boston. I never hated him.

He also had 2 chances to close out the Sox in 04 and he blew it.

This . I have watched at least 10 post games shows / specials and none mentioned bad officiating. 3 commentators applauded the refs and 1 said it was the greatest officiated game in sb history.
For the record, do u driveling, jealous, envious resource consuming wastes of life actually think the fix was in against the Falckokes? Goofdell runs the league and his worst relationship is with the Patriots, if any " fix " was ever in , it would be anti Patriot. Suicide is always an option to free yourself of more miserable existence .

If the NFL was fixed, the Falcons wouldn't have been playing in the SB over the Cowboys or Packers. That is for sure.

The two big catches were elite calls. There was no hesition

Yes, the the gap between him being GOAT vs # 2 is bigger than any other player in any sport being GOAT vs #2. 97 % of all baseball fans think he is GOAT and the other 3 fill out HOF ballots.

indeed, the bolded applies to literally every Boston sports fan I've ever interacted with. Even tremendous success across all sports leaves the Boston sports fan a bitter, angry, and paranoid wreck, as this post quite succinctly demonstrates.

Refs did an excellent job this game. This crew should do every super bowl.
They did miss an obvious face mask so they weren't that good

Nope, just sick of haters and their lack of respect. My lifetime spans the greatest dominance of the 4 major sports that any city has ever had. The only time I was bitter and angry recently was when I pissed on my balls at the Super Bowl, but that changed quickly.

A lot of refs call the last TD short and mark it on the 6 inch line. Even though there was enough evidence to overturn it if it was called short, it was nice not to have to see the super bowl end on a replay.

Can't really blame anyone other than the guy who operates the confetti cannons, I think. Same thing happened with Nova/UNC.

I don't understand this take. Your thinking is if 2 players are committing penalties, neither should be called instead of both? That seems, well, wrong.

I'm good with refs not flagging things that have zero effect on the outcome of a play in the super bowl yes

I think an 8-yard catch where there are dueling ineffectual facemask penalties is a fine time to pocket the flag too. Add that there was an obvious OL holding which *did* affect the outcome and which would haven been rendered moot by a 2-to-1 offsetting, and we really shouldn't be griping about it.
