I really think as brutal as this loss is, it's better than losing a blowout like 35-13 and be proven to be frauds. I mean if you can lead a SB by 19 after 3 quarters, then it's an easier to sell to say you can win a SB imo

if they get blown out - it would be "they need to retool the offense - GB and Seattle weren't that good defensively, a good defense can shut them down", etc etc.

you'd be questioning the whole team instead of being able to write it off to bad play-calling with a lead

broncos got utterly eviscerated and changed nothing. won it all 2 years later

cardinals lost on the final play 8 years ago. never got back

football has way too much variance for a super bowl appearance to ever be a certainty unless you're the pats. there's a non-zero chance this game gives ryan a thousand yard stare of shookness he never recovers from

it's a worse loss for the emotions of this game, but going forward for next year, they know they can win a ring - if they lose 45-0 , they were an overrated joke.

Edelman sounded concussed yet again in his NFLN interview... talked pretty slowly and took him forever to turn his head to the speaker. Not surprised, he destroys his body given his size.

But people compare Julio's crazy catch to Edelman's like they compare Julio to Edelman. Different players, different skills. Julio is way more athletic and makes the better catch but Edelman's is still sick and beats DBs like a drum.
