na man, this D is not fraudulent. They are very good at angles, tackling and defending the ball at the high point. A bend but never break defense. Very good at giving up those 5 yard plays on 3rd and 7. Their offensive line was exploited last year, but this year, they have the old O-Line coach back. I dont see how Atlanta is going to stop the pats offense and pats D should be able to stop Atlanta sometimes

The whole "NE's D are frauds" is such a dumb argument. That's a very good D. Obv schedule helped but 15 PPG is still impressive.

They aren't going to shut down Falcons Bc that offense is too good. But it's gonna be a heck of a lot tougher for ATL to score than against GB's awful D. I'm thinking 27-24 or so.

Pats offense vs Falcons defense is a bigger mismatch than Falcons offense vs Pats defense.

Reminds me of Pats vs Colts in 2004. Colts had the scariest unit (offense) but also the worst unit by far (defense). Pats were the ones who had the easier time scoring, I see that being the case here as well.

You're implying that we can't gather anything from the pats defense from their first 18 games because of the competition, which isn't true. There's information to be gleaned even against games started by Jared Goff.

(This certainly isn't to say that the pats will shut Atlanta down. Far from it.)

Indy defense was by far the worst unit in that game

not sure which game you're referring to from 3 years ago but I offhand I thought that game was a decent comp. below are full season DVOA but both defenses playing better now than those full season ranks

Falcons this year: Offense 1, Defense 27
Pats this year: Offense 2, Defense 16

Colts 04: Offense 1, Defense 19
Pats 04: Offense 3, Defense 7
