I could be bitter about the circumstances that led to the starting qb being out on the first drive and needing to return in the 2nd half with a torn UCL to hand the ball off in a blowout loss that the Niners never had a fair shot at even playing. So I will be.

But that doesn’t change the fact that Philly deserves this. They were undeniably the best team in football til Hurts went down then one of the best teams in football still while Hurts staggered them here on the strength of an un****ingbelievable team around him. The talent Philly has on both sides of the ball is pretty staggering. It’s truly difficult to find a weakness.

Why they will win: Mahomes isn’t 100% and taking Mahomes out of the equation Philly has head and shoulders the superior team by a wide margin. Siriani knows what he’s doing and while everyone already knows AJB is one of the best in the game, not nearly enough are recognizing just how hyperelite Smith is even when he isn’t fabricating catches that aren’t at all catches (not bitter).

Why they will lose: I mean. Mahomes? This guy is the only person in football drawing live to finish their career as the greatest to ever do it and unless Riddick can get matched up against a 7th string TE for a free shot at his blindside to get him out of the game on the first drive (totally not bitter), there is no defense that will shut him down. Even if you have him contained for, oh I don’t know, 3.5 quarters of a Super Bowl and even if you have, oh I don’t know, a 10 point lead at that time, this guy can snatch that trophy away from you (totally not bitter about that either)

Why they will win: Mahomes. He is as good as there is, and the walrus may be the best coach in football. Spags managed to limit an offense of Burrow, Gun Guy, Chase and Higgins. Who’s to say he couldn’t do the same with Hurts and friends?

Why they will lose: Mahomes gets hurt? Or maybe the eagles are so good it’s too much for Mahomes to overcome by himself.

SRM, you have reason to be bitter. I'm not nearly as confident in Sirianni and Gannon, but the talent can't be questioned. I'm not confident against Mahomes and this is likely the best Eagles team that I've seen.

ROG fixed an AFC Champ Game, why wouldn't he fix the Super Bowl too?

ROG will not be stopped.

Chiefs had 5 sacks on 12 pressures / 11 QB hits / 6 QB knockdowns and nearly lost to a team starting three USFL players at OL. When they played @ full strength CIN in December, Chiefs had 1 sack on 1 /1 / 0. Eagles worst starting OL is better than anyone CIN has. I just don't see Chiefs DL being a factor at all against an all-time OL. The LB corp and secondary are better than people think, but Sneed still has to clear concussion protocol to play, but also it won't matter without pressure, and they probably can't stop the run either.

News isn't much better on offense. Hardman is doubtful and probably won't play. Toney and JuJu both left the AFCCG and are nursing injuries. Mahomes obviously didn't have a high ankle sprain, but even if it's a medial it's probably not going to be 100%. They're facing a significantly better pass rush and cornerback play, and Eagles can probably just focus on doubling Kelce. Feels like another 31-9 type game unless Eagles do something dumb.

Big Super moments revisited:

I just watched the Giants game-winning drive against the undefeated Patriots. It might be the ugliest scoring drive I’ve ever seen. It was just an amalgam of busted plays, bad snaps, near fumbles, an ugly 4th down conversion, a dropped interception, tipped balls up for grabs, lousy scrambles by Manning, miracle scramble by Manning, helmet catch, wrong routes miscommunications between QB and receiver. Yet it scored. The only pretty play was the TD to Burress, defender fallen. It’s almost like the perfect season was jinxed by a comedy of errors.

Every time I watch that TD I think Burress is going to let the ball DOINK off his face mask. Every single time.

The Eagles OL is ridiculous. Fans didn't like the Dickerson pick, but he can probably play every position on the OL. If Kelce ever retires, then they even have a good replacement. Injuries aside, Mailata was probably the biggest disappointment this year and he's a stud.

I went YEARS without listening to him and recently found him again on the local AM dial. His show is absolutely terrible. I'd rather watch 9 hours of Around the Horn than listen to 10 minutes of Rome. Ok, that might be a stretch but you get the point.
