To be fair there isn't a person in the NBA who doesn't realize that Manu's going to drive to that side of the rim every time he has the ball. Yet, he's rarely stopped. I think thats the definition of being unguardable. Doing what you do successfully even when they know its coming.

Its not. I swear that 90% of Manu's drives are to the left. You just can't stop him from getting to that spot because he takes those weird herky jerky steps.

By contrast a player like Tony Parker will go equally to each side.

JVG said something enlightening (if it's correct, and it probably is, because it's JVG) at the end of this game.

Something like "the suns played small to get the tie on offense, so when Manu went down the court for the final shot, there was no shot-blocker in the paint to stop him once he beat his man (and you aren't guarding Manu one on one, let's face it)."

The Spurs only chance is basically what happened yesterday. With the game close in the 4th hack-a-shaq to get him off the floor. The suns WILL have trouble getting stops without Shaq on the floor (although Diaw did actually a solid job on Duncan, he made some tough shots) so thats their equalizer. If they eke out 4 wins like that ill probably go on a murder spree.

I would rather take that risk than just let the orange and gray seas part.

Obv the bigger error is 1- not fouling earlier 2- not saving timeouts so that you can get the right folks in the game 3- 'stache.
