i've always liked Ramona but didn't listen to that pod cuz I'm not really a fan of 3-man pods in general or of Pelton.

You better not be including Steiny Mo and Buch.

I'm likely the biggest Stein fan on earth, think he's the best in the biz. Buch the worst in the biz so I liked that pod just cuz it always exposed what a ****ing moron dunce Buch is. He was also really bad at masking his envy and jealousy of Bill.

yeah, this HAS to be uploaded to their podcast at some point, yall gotta listen to it. lebatard is completely ****ing this cat up and it’s brutal.

“yeah, I don’t believe you, and I think they’re just trying to make money and I don’t see how that refutable. jeffrey loria made a billion dollars and you got a shiny new taxpayer-paid stadium and YOU TRADED THE REIGNING MVP AGAIN, after you said you wouldn’t let that happen to GET THE SHINY NEW STADIUM BUILT BY THE TAXPAYERS”.

and the commissioner just basically abruptly says “okay bye” and hangs up Sports Media Discussion (RIP ESPN)Sports Media Discussion (RIP ESPN)Sports Media Discussion (RIP ESPN)Sports Media Discussion (RIP ESPN)

OMFG when they came back, they’re still going off...and admitted that he’ll never come back on, that espn probably has a beef with him and that when he said, “hey thanks for coming on, I respect you and appreciate you coming on” at the end and manfred says, “yeah okay bye” he knew he went hard.

that was a ****ing awesome 15 mins lol

and HOLY **** RUSSILLO GOT FIRED(edit: quit, I guess)!!!!!!!!

edit: went, they wanted him to move his slot, so he brought up a new contract (bc he was allowed to if they moved his slot), and they offered the same money for more work basically...

they said “do 3-6pm for the same money”, he said “uhhhh...now I’d have to do 10 hour days”, they said “we’re making an investment in you, sooo....” and he told them to kick rocks.

he’ll continue to do podcasts

Except the part where he lied.

Jeter's plan given to MLB was named Project Wolverine (ya know, slashing).

Quote:
A source directly involved in the Marlins sales process, after hearing the Le Batard interview, said, via text: “Commissioner said was not aware of [Jeter] plan to slash payroll. Absolutely not true. They request and receive the operating plan from all bidders.

“Project Wolverine [the name for Jeter’s plan] called on his group to reduce payroll to $85 million. This was vetted and approved by MLB prior to approval by MLB. Every [Jeter] investor and non investor has the Wolverine financial plan of slashing payroll to $85 million. Widely circulated.”

I don't even understand how people listen to anything on ESPN period. I see Russillo occasionally at Sports Clips - fills the time with bland chatter, just can't imagine going out of my way to listen to him on a regular basis. Are there people who care what he thinks about things?

lebatard got rattled right as the interview started when manfred started giving cliche non-answers. don't think he recovered. probably could have eviscerated him on a few key points, but think he was a bit out of control.
