Re: Sports Media Discussion (RIP ESPN)

Trump is too narcissistic to ascribe superiority to anyone beyond himself so clearly Jemele Hill was wrong and needs to apologize.

Seems like a poor assumption being that Jemele Hill said it

Dipp didn't seem that bad IMO. Try watching the weather channel at 3:00AM when they break in the new hires right out of college, that's some cringeworthy stuff.

Re: Sports Media Discussion (RIP ESPN)

that was an awkward 30 seconds but didnt even cause me to look up from my computer at the time. not any worse than jon gruden constantly assigning superlatives to every random player. "let me tell you, you will never find anyone who loves playing football more than jacquizz rodgers." or phil simms general nonsense

Re: Sports Media Discussion (RIP ESPN)

I wonder when ESPN is going to realize that the Streisand Effect is a very real thing. I forgot that Jemele Hill existed much less that she had anything to say about Donald Trump... until ESPN execs Goddell'd the whole thing up.

So wait there was a massive purge of ESPN and Jemele Hill was one of the survivors? Jesus.

That's definitely the takeaway from this entire conversation.

So this guy is basically the male version of Hillary.

- begins every sentence with "As a minority"
- makes you cringe every time you hear him speak
- references 9/11 as much as possible

I'll take 5-1 odds on him winning the D nom in the next 25 years.

Imagine a fringe sportscenter guy like a Neil Everett, going on a tweet rampage in 2015 about how Barack Obama is a black supremacist. He's fired within the hour.

I disagree with what Jemele Hill said, but I don't think she should be suspended or fired for having an opinion. I wish she didn't delete the tweet.

This is a little trick people have learned to shield whatever they are about to say from any possible criticism. It's a subtle way of implying that if you disagree with or in any way critique their opinions it's because you hate their identity

"As a mother..."
"As a woman..."
"As a gay man..."

etc.

This guy must really have something against Neil Everett to post this exact same thing in two different forums.
