I enjoyed Simmons' podcast with Kahhhhhhhhhhhhn. Also props to Kahn for "facing" one of his most vocal critics.

Even though the interview left little doubt regarding his aptitude as a gm

Had to do a control-f on "Wiig" after I finished reading, because I was sure that I must have missed it. Instead, this bull****:

Ben Stiller creates his own content. So does Will Ferrell. That's why they get more chances to be in good movies. Paul Rudd, David Koechner, Steve Carrell can all do more than act. Might be why "everybody from Anchorman got cast in other movies except for Christina Applegate." Or sexism, I guess.

Instead of clamoring for Rashida Jones and Natalie Portman to be handed a great buddy comedy, how about you ask them to create one? Kristen Wiig, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have all created their own (great) content, but there's no mention of any of them in the article. Lambert misses the point so bad. It should have been about giving really talented women more chances to create comedies from their points of view, not giving meh comedic actresses (all pretty damn successful ones) more chances.
i enjoyed this post

Both of these, Wiig is clearly talented, but she has like 3 characters and has driven them into the ground on SNL.

wiig's characters on snl are pretty terrible, but she's got talent.

bridesmaids was solid.

Must be pretty tempting on a show like SNL to find anything that gets a laugh and run it into the ground.

Tempting? I bet it's basically mandated.

I am reading the oral history of SNL right now and it is practically mandated.

I thought Kahn did a pretty decent job in the interview, surprisingly. Could be that there was a lot of fake personal accountability and out and out lying though.

The Barnwell article today about USMNT was good. The Carles one not so much.

I meant to ask if that Barnwell column had merit, because I don't know dick about soccer but I've always respected his work.

agree.
only thing I didn't hear was "player development". But that goes with the coaching staff mess he has.

The Henry Abbott podcast was good. ESPN should use him more.

i think the "we have to get older" line he was pushing implies he's not interested in player development.

Or he recognizing that too many young players isn't conducive to development. Someone has to lead/teach.

Nothing Kahn said made me think he knows enough about basketball to turn the T'Wolves around, but I have to give him some credit for owning everything. Not a lot of GMs take responsibly for everything the way he was doing.
