Yup. I read maybe 25 percent of the first page, clicked to the second page and just skimmed the first few paragraphs before closing it entirely.

agree, horrible column.

also, i could definitely be missing something here, but does this make any sense whatsoever? :

For trade purposes, a future top-10 lottery pick (like what Jersey gave Utah in the Williams deal) would be a 50-cent piece

For the 2011 draft, we're making the no. 1 and no. 2 picks worth 50 cents; picks 3 thru 6 are worth 30 cents; picks 7 thru 12 are worth 25 cents

That article was a hot mess, it doesn't make any sense at all. Lots of lulz in this draft though, so the diary should be good.

enjoyed the podcast, agree al seems like a really nice guy. chuck tends to ask some questions that i want to hear the answer to, but there never seems to be any order or flow to the interview and he talks way too much. for example he tees al up to tell a really touching story about his parents then spoils it by prompting him every 5 seconds. stfu dude

He's been doing interviews for articles for 15 years, which is a much different process. Writing gives him significant opportunity to craft the bits into a final product in a way a podcast doesn't allow.

This is like his 2nd podcast asking he questions. Given time, he will adapt to the format.

Agreed. He asked really good questions, but too often cut Al off prompting his answers.

Meh. Easy target since he has no basketball cred. Especially since he bowed to Isiah and kissed the ring.

I read his draft day diary. It's funny, everything Simmons thinks about a player, I think the exact opposite.

Sick beat for Simmons that Khan did the podcast before the news broke that the T'wolves 2nd round pick is 26 and ineligible for the draft.

ive just decided to not read the footnotes, makes reading a grantland article much easier.

at this point i'm just reading molly lambert to laugh at how much she sucks, i wonder if the masses will complain to the point where she gets the boot.

She's completely talentless and writes articles hating on people who are moderately talented and successful. In other words, she should still be writing for Deadspin.

Calling Bismack "The Demographic" because he's somewhere between 18-24 is such a good nickname though.

I gave this Molly Lambert character a whirl, she really is a terrible writer and could do with a workshop with any number of authors.

Checked her new article about females in comedies out because of the comments in this thread.

Had to do a control-f on "Wiig" after I finished reading, because I was sure that I must have missed it. Instead, this bull****:
Quote:
Cameron Diaz, in or out of a bikini, is an incredibly gifted physical comedian. You couldn't just swap in a generic blonde hottie in There's Something About Mary any more than you could swap in a generic bumbling nebbish for Ben Stiller.
Ben Stiller creates his own content. So does Will Ferrell. That's why they get more chances to be in good movies. Paul Rudd, David Koechner, Steve Carrell can all do more than act. Might be why "everybody from Anchorman got cast in other movies except for Christina Applegate." Or sexism, I guess.

Instead of clamoring for Rashida Jones and Natalie Portman to be handed a great buddy comedy, how about you ask them to create one? Kristen Wiig, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have all created their own (great) content, but there's no mention of any of them in the article. Lambert misses the point so bad. It should have been about giving really talented women more chances to create comedies from their points of view, not giving meh comedic actresses (all pretty damn successful ones) more chances.
