I think it would be more accurate to say he forgoes larger sums in order to escape the media as much as possible.

And I think its obvious his media issues stem from social anxiety, not a specific desire to be an *******. He's clearly uncomfortable with all those cameras and mics on him. He spends 90% of the interview staring at the floor.

You didn't answer my question

I'd like to see exactly where in the contract it says "must talk to media." The NFL has mandated that players must make themselves available, but I doubt it's in contract language.

This is all so silly. Players play, reporters report. Write the damn story without the cliche from the player. Not that hard.

Seems pretty ridiculous that Marshawn is spawning this much RIGHTEOUS INDIGNATION about why won't he just answer the questions?!, but BB's "He was inactive" press conference is universally lauded around here.

Or the "we're focused on Cincinnati" one. Or any number of other BB press conferences.

Or any of Pop's in-game interviews.

Why do you doubt it's in the contract? Surely we'd have to heard about it.

Huh, if only there was some way to find information like that...

"Sports media" is an obvious oxymoron and lol@ hypocritical media complaining about this while also manufacturing a story from it but this is pretty clearly part of every player's job.

he does cooperate with the media, and in an extremely polite way. who else thanks them as much for doing their job?

meh.

Media going way overboard on the butthurt as expected but he wants that sweet NFL $$$ he has to comply with the media policy. Same as everybody else.

Do you think all of the other players and coaches want to deal with the media bs?

Spurrier's "I don't need to take any questions, yall saw what happened" was basically the best possible example of this.

And your salary directly correlates with the media unlike other jobs.

It's not like the glory days of journalism when people depended on getting their sports information from the newspaper every morning. But access to players and stories still creates fan interest, along with all these mega tv deals.

We, as fans, deserve answers to questions like, "how did you feel during that run?"

So bill could tell that Rando was playing to not get injured with the celtics cuz bill plays pickup basketball and you can just kinda tell the guys that play all out vs the guys that are trying to stay healthy.

Am I the only one who gets extremely tilted whenever a Grantland article refers to the Tornoto Raptors as the "Drakes"?

That's what they should be called. I don't really understand your question.
