Simmons is giving ESPN the finger with this move.

Love it.

**** Mike and Mike. Take them down! Gain some cool crowd respect.

Golic's just an idiot. Greenberg is ****ing cancer. Dude was always the bull**** morality police.

I've got Smith > Breen > Wilbon > Kim > Greenberg > Tirico > Ditka > Golic > Patrick

Not exactly a murderer's row of Mikes.

Tirico far too low. I like him a lot. He just doesn't stand out because he's a happy professional. It doesn't make waves.

Wilbon far too high, Kim probably too low (being bland is a big win here), Patrick far too low. He's awesome and crazy in fun ways.

Too bad you can't count him anymore but Davies >>>>>> all of them.

I don't see this as that. He's not getting into a war with Mike and Mike, he's getting into a war with ESPN because he thinks they're not going to punish M&M for talking **** on him.

Tirico is down a few slots because of his creepiness with the women. Hard to take him serious.

Patrick I never liked as a PBP guy. Think about how badly you have to perform at ESPN to be demoted. Analysis guys you can avoid, PBP guys you really can't.

I agree Wilbon is terrible, Kim should probably be above him. Everyone else is more terrible. His show was occasionally watchable.

i can understand why people like mike greenberg but i can't tolerate him either

he's too "radio guy" for me and i prefer organic coversation but that could be because the higher ups at espn like for everything to feel scripted. don't really feel like he shares a thought on anything, just has this "some would say" whiff about anything that isn't a beta level statement of fact.

sure, every pre-production meeting before a good show has a layout but there is a talent to being put together without the listener feeling as if it's contrived.

The only time to pay attention to Greenberg is when something bad happens to the Jets. I also unblock TradeOC.

Greenberg is generic fancy boy sports radio guy and Golic is central casting ex-football player casual fan idiot. That is the whole formula for the show. If I want to hear a guaranteed moronic casual fan opinion about something that happened in sports they are my go to guys.

Simmons has been held back in the past from making ESPN vs ESPN comments so I guess he is calling them out on hypocrisy for Golic being allowed to **** on him on air.

Sniping at the ombudsman seems stupid and petty.

I'll go ahead and predict a Twitter ban for Simmons

I've met one person ever who enjoys Mike & Mike. I'm pretty sure whatever radio show was on ESPN radio would do well in the ratings.

Simmons is of course 100% right to fire shots at them but he's also the one that's going to end up punished.

Listening to Mike and Mike is about as compelling as reading USA Today at an airport while waiting to board your flight. Maybe a step above just staring into space. Maybe not.

I guess Simmons couldn't stand not "going public" about something.

Why would ESPN punish M&M for that??

Simmons must already have one hell of an offer.

ESPN's preferred move wouldn't be to fire him but to scrub everything of his existence and pay out his contract while he rots on the bench and sheds all heat. Bill should know this so he's pot committed whether he intented to be or not.

This gun be good. I wonder how much control his contract gives ESPN over his Twitter activity if they do put him on the bench.

Time to refollow Jack-O.

I believe Simmons got suspended a while back for blasting first take...he probably thinks the same should apply.

IDK, the ombudsman criticized him for calling Goodell a liar when ESPN was running news stories to that effect on the same day.

I haven't heard the M&M context yet, but did all they do is say a Simmons claim was silly? Or did they really rip into him? Just figuring he's being all emo per his past history when someone calls him out.

Doesn't seem that outside the norm to call out a sport media person if you disagree with them. Simmons hands are pretty dirty if we're talking about bashing sport media personalities.

This goes way beyond that, Simmons has a longstanding gripe about ESPN guys being able to trash him without being able to respond in kind. He got a Twitter suspension during his book tour for firing back at guys at the Boston ESPN Radio affiliate who were taking shots at him on air. And Simmons is 100% in the right here, he takes heat all the time and corporate does nothing as far as we can see. It's the media equivalent of refs only penalizing the guy who throws the second punch in retaliation.

Don't think this happened. He was suspended for calling Roger Goodell a liar.

Edit: you're talking about a different occasion. My bad.
