You think Ric Bucher is mad that he's still not the most famous sports Bucher even though The Waterboy is 15 years old?

Yes, he is a freaking warriors sideline reported. Daryl Morey doesn't give two ****s about him. Loled when he signed off saying his agent was calling him.

He did have a sizzling take on the Sterling stuff though.

I should really move to LA.

Lynch and Yoshida are really cute. They regard Molly Lambert as an intellectual heavyweight.

I will have zero feels when California falls into the Pacific.

Colson Whitehead is on Grantland's Sincerity Hour with Brian Kopplelman talking about his WSOP book.

Has anyone read this guy? He won a MacArthur Fellowship but this guy is a charisma-vacuum and a complete ****ing nerd. He loosens up toward the end but I'm taking nothing away from this interview. I'm not even talking about the inane poker stuff; I'm just not impressed by the thought processes on display here.

heh, yeah it's bad. his answer to one of the questions very early on about his homegame was just incoherent. it was the kind of thing where if you were talking to a buddy or someone at work you'd stop yourself and say 'heh sry i'm making this point really badly'. i have 2/3 left and i will finish it tomorrow, but i am not sure why.

Jane Curtin's daughter really got the least out the Jeopardy piece.

It's the opposite of Lowe at the NBA Lottery.

I don't blame him but he sure was fired up.

West Coast Sissy Bill aka Billy TMZ is all about perception over content. Everything around the story is more important than the story. Grantland is pumping out a ton of this **** because he's filled that office with shallow, narcissistic snark.

I just don't find a lot of joy in much of what's coming out of Grantland (obviously exempting Barnwell, Keri, the analytics stuff, and the great Zach Lowe). Sports and entertainment are supposed to be fun. Instead there's always something that feels ****ty.

I didn't know it could get worse than West Coast Sissy Bill, but Stodgy Old White Guy Bill is not a good look.

Good post, agree 100% though I'd never thought about it in quite those terms. I pretty much only visit Grantland for the exceptions you mentioned.

Thanks. I suffered through many hours of inane thought-processes to come to these conclusions.

Podcasts for Everyone! is not necessarily a good policy.

Yeah, +1 on my end too. The great Zach Lowe continues to be the major exception, he's the best asset on Grantland
