Not sure if it's the my favorite season, but the second to last episode of season three - the one which opens with Muzzone and Omar in an alley and near the end has Stringer and Avon on the roof of their condo talking about how they "aint gotta dream no more", a quote which has two totally opposite meanings - is, by far, my favorite episode of the series. To be fair it was able to be that good by virtue of being set up by the episodes running up to it, but it flawlessly brought three seasons of character and plot development to a head in one hour.
That is a brilliant scene. (Avon and Stringer). Probably my favourite.

I'd be pretty pissed if I were CDL. Sounds like him and his other friends are being completely **** on.

Jaime Hector really does the silent, cold, unfeeling villain well though.

I understand less the people who have Marlo as a favorite character. He doesn't seem to have the depths or the complexities under the surface that most of the generally-considered favorites do. That's a testament to who Marlo is as a criminal, but it also makes him less interesting as a result.
nath articulates my take on marlo pretty well here. i wasn't implying he's necessarily a bad actor either, he's just not very deep in comparison to other major characters

People really hate Ziggy? Like that's a thing? Ziggy is awesome.

Marlo is awesome but not really in the discussion for goatish characters, for the reason Dids pointed out. Bodie might be my favorite.

4>>2>1=3>>>5. 5 lives on a bit better on multiple viewings (street stuff is great), but it is still really flawed.

I bookended a Wire rewatch with Sopranos and Deadwood last year (my gf has watched none of them). The more I watch of the shows the closer they are then OMG WIRE NOTHING IS CLOSE. Deadwood especially is great because the entire series is incredible (easier with 3 seasons for sure) and I think I laugh out loud during an episode of Deadwood on average more than any show ever. Sopranos prolly even underrated at this point.

With all that said The Wire still probably the best. White people are trying really hard to ruin it though.

Ok, obviously the bride is a B, but the ****'s up with your boy for letting this happen?

Marlo is definitely a one dimensional character in that the only thing he cares about is power, and that keeps him from being in contention for the GOAT character to me.

I do still have him in my top ten (though he would be near the bottom of it) because of Jamie Hector's performance. I just think he brought such an aura to the character that made any scene with him in it popcorn worthy, and that makes me rate him higher than I would have otherwise. Most of my favorite characters have more depth to them though.

I get that CDL is more upset about the double standard, but how much time do you really have to spend with your date when you are in a wedding party?

Unless I had known the groom since I was 2 years old, I'm absolutely serious when I say that I would not attend the wedding if I found out the bridesmaids all had dates.

Yeah same, obv. But CDL isn't gonna do that. If he was going to do something drastic he would have done it months ago when he got that ridiculous bull**** email/facebook message.

So, whatever. Do the worst thing you can do that you are capable of doing.

The only move, now, CDL, is to object during the ceremony.

whipping your horsecock out and telling the groom to "put his bitch in check" might be a good move as well

I really liked S2. I do think S5 is "clearly" a notch below everything else, for obvious reasons.

I don't follow the post. Is it that all the bridesmaids were allowed to have dates, but none of the groomsmen?
