we didnt do an outright ban of little kids but we told family a lot of 21-26 year olds will be there and it might not be appropriate. most got the hint and got sitters.

The general idea of a bunch of white people in western europe / north america fixing major problems in africa seems foolhardy to me.

and (i've heard) that their main goal is the US govt maintaining their 100 soldier (aka military adviser) presence in Uganda, which is the status quo.
So if you find the status quo to be optimal why are you making all this noise?

The US committed troops to go after the guy years ago though. That's part of what makes this a bit silly. There's already been plenty of effort put forth in stopping the guy. Yes, it will raise awareness, but it seems like there's questions if there's any actual change that this could bring about.
