Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog, and Forum Discussion

I would throw in "Ed Wade trading six prospects for Miguel Tejada and then immediately finding out afterward that he's a 34-year-old roid user" but I don't think any of the prospects panned out.

Ed Wade, Jim Bowden and Bill Bavasi walked into a bar

Last edited by PocketChads; 03-06-2012 at 09:35 PM. Reason: they assembled a team of 11 outfielders and 14 middle relievers, and then traded them all for Erik Bedard

slocumb was pretty bad in Boston before that trade iirc

although both Lowe and Varitek obviously far exceeded any reasonable projection

kobe for vlade and nowitzki for fatass RIP traylor haven't been mentioned yet? kinda hard for it not to be a WOAT trade when one guy is still playing at an all-star level and the other's dead

Kyrie Irving and the right to amnesty Baron Davis for eMo Williams might look pretty bad.

Highlight of the unforgettable Ed Wade era in Houston has to be him getting tackled and strangled by Shawn Chacon.

Does anyone know why my youtube vids didn't work? I used the [youtube]url without &feature=related[/youtoobe] tags.

Never had a problem before.

Wouldnt be interested in a boxing draft (dont know enough about the subject), but in terms of a fun, non sports related draft similar to the Pokemon draft and the Desert Island draft, I think a draft of fictional people, either from TV, movies or video games etc... with the aim to make the greatest 48 hour bender part ever would be pretty sweet.

Re: SE FAQ, Liveblog, and Forum Discussion

I need ideas for a wedding gift for a friend whose wedding is on Saturday. I am a groomsmen and would rather not buy random kitchen **** or things from the registry. If possible I would like the gift to be tailored to the groom bc the bride is a huge *****. She has done things like not allowing groomsmen to have dates to the wedding unless they are married (only 1 of us) even if they are in other long-term relationships (two of us have girlfriends that we've been with longer than they've been together), complaining about how none of the groomsmen had bought a wedding present a month before the wedding (she knows this bc she asked for gifts to be shipped to her parents house and has been opening them), and adding all kinds of ridiculous accessories to an odd colored tux that will cost over $200 to rent for one day despite being from men's wearhouse (base price is $99).

Pretty sick how this worked out for the Tigers even though they extended Dontrelle and he had a mental breakdown.

Maybin looks like he's starting to pan out in SD and who knows if Miller will lose the title of worst 6'7 LHP ever

you gotta factor in that without the trade they would have lost cabrera anyway but got nothin

regardless miller was a huge stiff, didnt he play in the majors right after getting drafted too? then just got worse

he had some clause in his contract that he had to be on the 40 man roster by a certain date after drafted so the tigers gave him a few starts

I have to think the groomsmen have to make a stand on something like that and force the groom to get some balls back.
