Isn't this the totally standard schedule? We worked it out with the other party houses on campus.

i just find it amazing that some here find it ******ed that a broke college student might not want to shell out $2-300 to pay for dozens of random people's booze.

also nobody ever charges at the door (to get in) like some people are insinuating. $5 gets you a cup, you use the cup to drink all the beer you want. girls don't pay. if you wanted you could just bring your own **** and drink that instead of paying the $5. if you were in a frat then I assume that is an entirely different situation and none of this applies to you.

yeah coordination was standard

I was just saying that we were better suited to throw down more often than some of the other groups in the rotation

In the end, spreading out the parties eased everyone's collective financial burden and gave everyone a good amount of time for recuperation between hosting bangers

Can't imagine what the house would have looked like if we threw down every weekend, let alone considering that running a $1200 collective slush fund budget every weekend would probably be too draining on some of the brothers

then just hire some cleaning people to do it

we paid 100 to some random women to clean our entire house after since no amount of pledges could fix it

The only person I've seen "insinuate" this was me, and I can promise you that we did charge at the door for the parties we threw. It's atypical, but apparently we had the drawing power to pull it off.

It's not as easy as that br0

We'd clear out almost the entire first floor of furniture and the like, so we could use it as a gigantic dance floor. The basement would be an entire **** show altogether

I'm not sure what kind of work you got out of the cleaning ladies you hired off craigslist for $100 , but it would take like 30 of us almost 2 hours to clean up and put all the crap back in its place the day after hosting a banger

How much did you charge for use of the toilet?

Yeah, and there's this issue as well: Collateral damage. I lived in the ATO house, and the frat was full of drug-addled nutsos. Since cocaine was cracked down on hard when I was growing up (late 90's early 00's), the drugs of choice of the poor NE Ohioans were pharmaceutical grade amphetamines and a ridiculous amount of alcohol. Unsurprisingly there were tons of fights and destroyed **** on our campus, so charging people $5 helps to cover the destruction that inevitably follows.

that sounds like great value for a $100

unfortunately, our cleanup involved a lot of heavy lifting and moving of expensive furniture and equipment

During my junior year, we sprung a water main leak during one of our parties after some huge ******* somehow managed to pull a urinal off the wall in the process of passing out

We finally got some alumni funding my senior year and were able to redo some of the ancient interior of the house

The only destruction related to our parties happened to the windows of cars up the street. That was the most intense cops showing up and breaking up things we had.

We probably had like 50 people just in the front yard/drive way. I told the cops "I'm glad you're here, this got our of hand" and they started asking people to leave. Nobody was listening to them, and I started yelling too- and the cops started taking their verbal cues from me, which was really odd.

I ended (really stupidly it turns out) throwing open the garage door (all the kegs were in the garage) to get more people out faster. After it was over the cop told me that they could have arrested all of us for not having a banquet permit (and obviously they could have run wild on us for serving minors had they wanted to) but that they went easy on us because we were helpful.

Recently kegs were prohibited on campus and made finable by ~$2,000 per keg

One of the big party frats on campus got busted by the cops, who ransacked their house and hit them with a $2,000 fine for each of the 15 kegs that they found in the house, for a whopping $30,000. Couple that financial blow with the additional heat they got from The Dean, and that frat was dead within 1 year

A lot of frats have since transitioned to springing a little extra for 30s in order to avoid the crippling financial liability of getting caught with kegs

Dids, those cops sound like the polar opposites of the ones I dealt with on a regular basis as an undergrad

But then again, I'm not sure how long ago you were an undergrad, since things have probably drastically changed in the last few decades
