Jack Daniel's Single Barrel is one of the best ****ing things on the planet and everyone who has at least a passing familiarity with whiskey owes it to themselves to try it.

There's a Dexter reference in The Wire.

GOAT show until I rewatch Game Of Thrones or Breaking Bad.

Sucks **** by choice is an outstanding line, but i think se should adopt a more recent milch line: that's ******* 8th grade reasoning.
Nothing wrong with BT, though. Funny story, there's a hipster Prohibition-style bar in my neighborhood that keeps Buffalo Trace as the well bourbon.

I usually by Makers or Bulleit, but BT is a great choice for sipping/mixing.
Blanton's is the best bourbon I've had, but I won't hate on anything small batch. The dream is still to find a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle's.

I go through periodic rye-drinking phases as well, which is nice because you can make a rye taste pretty good even when it's not that expensive. That said I'd still prefer a Bulleit or Rittenhouse rye to a Jim Beam or Old Overholt.

I was over at a friend's last night and we ended up doing an impromptu blind bourbon tasting. We had Maker's, Evan Williams Single Barrel, Bulleit, Knob Creek, Ancient Age and we threw in Crown for the hell of it.

I easily picked out the Crown (obv) and the Knob Creek but couldn't guess which was which out of the other four. My rankings ended up as follows:

1. Knob Creek
2. Bulleit
3. Ancient Age
4. Evan Williams Single Barrel
5. Maker's Mark
6. Crown

then again, I'm about to have some Rogue Mocha Porter... wtf is up with that?
It used to be called NewPorter and they had to elite up the name for all the microbrew high on themself types.

I do like a good porter, but god damn all the pretentiousness around microbrews these days.

Did they change the recipe, thus the name change? It's been mocha porter for as long as I can remember. Probably had something to do with a trademark and/or branding and name recognition. The horror.

Hotel 1898 in Barcelona is nice and centrally located. Highly recommend late dinner/tapas at Tapas24.
