Camping is obviously just manufacturing a reason to drink in the morning

I don't mean personal fireworks like bottle rockets or roman candles, those are lots of fun to shoot at people and things.

Parades - let's go stake out a place on a curb and hang out for awhile, and some time later people are going to roll by at idle speed in a costume of some sort on a float. Uhhhhhh???

Mock drafts - I still don't know if the purpose of mock drafts is to predict who teams are going to pick, or to predict who teams should pick based off of need, best player available, etc. I'd rather hear about someone's fantasy team than their mock draft, because at least fantasy involves actual games and real, measurable outcomes.

Camping - pack and haul a bunch of stuff out into the middle of nowhere, then spend time unpacking it...all for the privilege of being attacked by bugs and possibly mauled by bears while being far less comfortable than at home. Then when that's done pack it all back up and schlep home to put it all away. Yet this is a leisure activity thoroughly enjoyed by tens of millions of people. If the pioneers had the option of staying at a Hampton Inn I assume all the covered wagons would be in the parking lot at night.
Tupper, I love you. Perfect list

Kids are the answer to some of that. Not camping though **** that. Thought the fireworks display at Disneyland was especially good. Incorporating lights, the characters, music, and other cool special effects. But I only was there and really enjoyed it because my kid was so filled with wonder.

Camping is about the socializing without the possibility of distractions from the normal world. And drinking

Camping is indeed aggressively WOAT. Excuse for drinking in the morning? Yeah, because there's ****in nothing else to do. I hike every morning and love getting outside. And I still look at campers like they're deranged idiots.

Parades are also so lol.

Fireworks are unreal awful. When I was a kid it used to just be 4th of July but the last few years it seems like these morons do it all summer. Between infants, pets, and vets with ptsd its really a disgraceful thing to do.

Not ashamed to admit I call the police anytime I hear them near my neighborhood. Its usually just ******s lighting m80s for a loud noise. Its not even the cool looking ones.

Big correlation between Trump voters and firework users. They want to be the LAW AND ORDER party means im calling the POLICE when they break the LAW by using fireworks.

It should legit be a felony that makes you unemployable if you get caught lighting fireworks.

Also makes everyone's health insurance premiums go up due to how many ******s injure themselves every year.

Every time I read an article of someone accidentally killing themselves in a fireworks accident I masturbate.

Fireworks are fun because you go to a place to watch them with friends or family while having the option to eat good food and drink alcoholic beverages. It is also a cheap activity as watching fireworks has no inherent cost. People enjoying spending time outside with friends and family as is so doing so while pretty things explode in the sky is also fun. The fireworks give people a reason to gather.

Parades are fun for similar reasons. They are inherently an outdoor daydrinking activity. People like daydrinking because its fun.

Do you dislike tailgating as well? Its basically the same thing in that the primary activity is hanging out with people you like and drinking and eating. The parade/fireworks/sporting event give people beyond your small group a reason to gather and create a much larger and more fun environment.

Parades are not the same as tailgating. Parades are massive inconveniences to people who dont want to participate. If people wanted to dress up like idiots and play bag pipes at the MetLife Stadium parking lot thats fine by me. Get that **** away from residential and commercial areas and stop blocking traffic.

It was not really a qualm, but more like a curiosity, a thirst for knowledge, an eagerness to learn.

I recently went legit camping and it was totally ridiculous. You basically have to get drunk to even fall asleep and you wake up in the middle of the night super hot and uncomfortable. I didn’t take a **** for like 72 hours. Then after not sleeping well you get up and go hike around all day only to come back to your campsite and be miserable again. Yeah cool you get to start fires and talk and drink. Go to a ****ing bar.

I'm always fishing when I'm camping. It's ****ing great to wake up in the morning, walk out to a river with basically no one else around, catch a few fish, scramble up trout and eggs and sit outside to eat out in nature with no car horns, chugging trucks, electrical lighting etc. Pretty sure camping is something you like only if you were exposed to it a lot at a young age. It seems like a lot of stuff people complain about with camping (the packing, the setup, not sleeping in your bed) I don't even think about when picturing the experience, I'm just used to it. No toilet sucks however you put it though. Last year camping in eastern Oregon on a hike I had "can't hold it any more" **** coming and had to shred my underwear into strips with my knife for toilet paper. Then you're supposed to bury it.

Probably this. I camped 8 or so times a year when I was a kid (thanks, boy scouts) and have wanted to go recently but can't talk any of my friends into it - most of whom have never been. Camping is great for most of the reasons already stated - get away from noise and people and technology, enjoy the outdoors, hanging out and drinking outside. The inconveniences are minor - oh no I have to sleep on something that is not my bed!

Added bonus: Throw in an acoustic guitar and you can even play some DMB around the fire!
