Experience sounds very similar to what my wife went through w/ our daughter. Had to spend a week in the NICU b/c she aspirated meconium during the prolonged (30 hr) birth. It was a weird experience, mostly because above each child there was a white board with the child's name & weight & our child was the only one in there that was weighed in pounds and not grams.
+1 to whoever said NICU nurses are amazing. I have no idea how they do what they do every day.
