Need a beer pong ruling.

So, standard rules dictate (I assume most of SE agrees) that if your partner sinks the same cup that you sink, before the other team finishes drinking the beer from that cup, then the game is over.

What about: instead of teams of 2, it’s 1 vs 1, and the shooter fires two quick shots in succession (say 4-5 seconds apart), both of which land inside the same cup. Still game over?

The contention is that normally with teammates: after the first shooter goes, there’s a small, unconscious pause (~5 seconds?) during which the first shooter moves the f out the of way so that his partner can line up and shoot. This is more than enough time for the villain to pick up the cup that was made. But if it’s 1v1 instead of teammates, and you fire two shots in a row very quickly, there’s hardly enough time for the villain to even pick up the cup once it’s sank.

Hopefully that’s clear and not too rambly. How does SE rule in this instance?

is that actually the standard rule? no one plays like that here (Ontario, Canada). standard play here is you leave the cups on the table until both partners have shot. we do same cup is remove 3 cups (including the one that got scored on) and get the balls back (some parties i've been to have just been remove 2 cups and balls back - defending team picks which other cup or 2 get removed)

i feel like if that is the standard rule for you guys it's gotta be removed in 1v1, just dumb because rapid fire is way too easy

We always play same cup is three cups total but you can remove it right away after the first make.

These are the rules I'm used to as well. Plus both players can throw whenever ie one throw one bounce at same time

Made cups must be immediately removed as a default (house rules vary)

4-5 seconds is plenty of time to remove.

Game over.
