I would say that ofc driving through counts. and certainly if you stopped to eat or something. but you do get a feel for the state by driving through so that counts.
I would say driving through counts more than Maine for me when I only kayaked across the border from NH and stayed the night in a campground then went back the next day. I dunno.
Ive been to every state except the Pacific Northwest. And I think only a couple would only be driven through status too, Kansas, and South Carolina.
heres the states Ive missed thus far: Washington, Oregon, Montana, South Dakota, North Dakota, Idaho, Wyoming, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Alaska and Hawaii.
Only driven through, Kansas 3x, South Carolina 4x, Rhode Island once and Connecticut once. I think I took a hike in delaware once while driving through too.
Not too bad Id say, all but 12.
