at the risk of nitting up the FAK with lolgolf talk, the Sands course at Gamble Sands was designed by David McLay Kidd (the designer of the first course at Bandon Dunes) but the developer of Bandon is Mike Keiser who has nothing to do with Gamble Sands. Gamble is definitely trying to duplicate the Bandon model with great golf at an isolated location, huge putting course (the Punchbowl at Bandon is roughly the same size as the Cascades at Gamble), decent lodging and food, etc.

McLay Kidd also designed Tetherow in central Oregon which is fantastic. I'd play any course of his sight unseen.

The dude seriously just repeats the same trope about her not being there for him, breaking up with him, and being selfish while he's going through "literal torture" over and over.

The guy was digging really hard there and laying it all on the line and he never even got a scratch on her. If this is the worst she's done then she seems pretty normal tbh. I can't imagine people read that and learn anything new about her.

I am now really interested in the relationship between mental health issues and the symptom he's having with benzos. Because I'm sure it's terrible but to write this atrocity, sit on it for 7 months, share it with her, and then post it the way it is... this dude is completely unhinged.

Benzo withdrawal is by all accounts hell on Earth, our own LFS went through it. The "tolerance withdrawal" phenomenon, where people become tolerant to the drug and then start experiencing withdrawal symptoms even without decreasing dose, is uncommon and may not be medically recognised (not sure) but there are a lot of anecdotal reports.

That said, I don't think this guy's decision to post this email is down to the benzo issues, I think he has a lot of other issues. I'd also be pretty skeptical that he never took more than the recommended dose and that he had no idea when he was taking the drug that it was a bad idea to be on it long term. I'd say he just wants to blame other people.

Those withdrawals may be pretty bad, but I'd still be OK with Hitler going through them.

I had two massive seizures from quitting benzos cold turkey. Just hit me out of nowhere. Had no other symptoms. After first one doctors didnt put 2 and 2 together. 2nd one a different doctor caught it right away gave me taper script and never had another one.

One seizure was while in the shower luckily* i didnt crack my skull.

Second seizure resulted in a broken shoulder.

Unlike almost all drugs, benzos and alcohol are physically addictive and you can literally die from the withdrawal. Very important to know when planning to quit.
